He's been a better rookie than Datsyuk so why not? Not insane at all - Santo_44
Skinner had a better rookie year than Seguin, Hall, Marchand, Subban, Shattenkirk and Couture (Wow...what a sick year for rooks too).
Marner is going to be an elite force (barring injuries etc.), but let's not rush to compare him to the guy who will one day have a trophy re-named after him. |

Honestly, the Marner/Datsyuk comparison isn't that insane. The level of 2-way game, puck stealing, and puck wizardry he's got, in his rookie season, as a 19 year old... Sky's the limit.
McDavid is definitely in another tier than Matthews though. - Feeling Glucky?
Agreed.
He has the same amount of assist as Matthews has points. But once that Mckid learns to shoot more often. |

The Datsyuk/Marner comparison is insane. NO way Marner who is not a C is Datsyuk nor a perennial Selke candidate nor has to play a 200' game that a C has to play. Wingers have it easy compared to top C. We all show our homerness but c'mon. - Nighthawk
Datsyuk started his career on the wing. |

What's up with these health food chains that cut up fruits and vegetables into a bowl and then charge you 12 dollars.
It's a bit silly.... |

Ummmm, no.
Lots of guys have 3 Selkes.
They invented the damn thing to give it to Bob Gainey.
If they are ever going to re-name it, it will be the Gainey Trophy.
Go back to the Soviet Union, you dumb commie bastard. |

Think of how much money you'll save on the back end by not eating the Whopper meal, developing the beetus and having your legs amputated. |

I bring my own lunch probably 18/20 work days a month and cook all my meals at home.
That being said, I can literally go to the grocery store, by some avocado, disgusting ass quinoa, alfalfa sprouts and cherry tomatoes for like 6 bucks and put together my own rip off 'power food' salad |

What I find so amusing about these "healthy food take-out restaurants" is the biggest thing causing obesity these days isn't what we are eating, it's how much we are eating.
And the healthy food places are just as guilty as everyone else - giving customers a 3,400 calorie meal.
All hail Lord Beetus. |

I make my kids' lunch every day, so most days I just make my self a couple of sandwiches, throw in a piece of fruit, and off I go.
But damn, some days you really need to a) get out of the office; and b) have a bit of variety. |

Well, you see, they see that their produce is starting to go bad, with mold on it. They wash the visible mold off (not really as most mold is invisible to the human eye)...create these platters and salads, and sell it to unsuspecting people who don't even realize what they're buying at an absurd cost and has a best before date of 2 days from packaging is actually already bad. It allows the grocery store the opportunity to recoup the costs of overstocking their produce.

Granted I do eat like garbage whenever I don't bring a lunch, which is fine I think, considering that most days I'm more likely to reach for a vegetable than a bag of chips when I have a growl on outside of meal hours.
Also, the obsession with looking at trans fat content and sugar and ingredients is pretty silly as well. Grab an apple instead of reading labels on snack foods. |

I'm a big Marner fan.
Datsyuk has been my favorite player in NHL.
I feel Marner has potential to be Datsyuk vs 2.0.
Potentially the most interesting player to watch due to his creativity.
However I do feel Matthews is just a notch up.
I think as well though that Matthews > McDavid.
Matthews is really something special, as is Marner - just different type of players.
My favority player will surely be Marner, but I do think Matthews at the end is the best player.

I'm not comparing 19 year old Marner to peak Datsyuk
I'm comparing potential peak Marner to peak Datsyuk.
I remember reading that the only OHL comparable to Marner in terms offense, is McDavid. We know he's got the elite offensive talent, we know he's got the smarts, and we know he's got the drive. It's up to Babcock to mold him into whatever he thinks he needs him to be... but you've gotta imagine that he's seen the similarities to his old star. |

Now that Nylander has at least 52 points in his rookie season, he's prime trade bait for a #4 d-man. |
