And to answer the question, we want to play Montreal.
We haven't seen them in the playoffs since 1979. I can't even remember it.
It's time.
This franking town will shut down. It will be glorious. |

I guess they do have a decent amount of down time after NJ. NJ on the 23 then only 25 & 28th before the rest of the schedule goes to hell. Maybe you're right and they should ride Andersen. Has he played back to back yet this season? How'd he do? (How do goalies in general do?) - markmark
im ok with mcEl vs NJ I think leafs would do well. |

I used to pay $75 for standing room at the home opener vs the Habs every year. Even those were difficult to get because the Leaf Nation Hype Train chugs hard after the pre-season. |

I'm a big Marner fan.
Datsyuk has been my favorite player in NHL.
I feel Marner has potential to be Datsyuk vs 2.0.
Potentially the most interesting player to watch due to his creativity.
However I do feel Matthews is just a notch up.
I think as well though that Matthews > McDavid.
Matthews is really something special, as is Marner - just different type of players.
My favority player will surely be Marner, but I do think Matthews at the end is the best player.
- MaximusAurelius[both are great on defense by the way]

But Mitch Marner Magic Man sounds so much better and Matthews will for sure lead the league in scoring in his second season. |

Really?
It's - by far - the best games of the year.
There's so many (too many) Habs fans in the building. The crowd is always rocking. It's just such a shame we've been pummeled by them for so long.
My ranking (every year) of games you want to see:
Mandatory
Opening Night (doesn't matter what opponent)
First choice
Habs
Next tier (no particular order)
Red Wings
Sens
Sabres
Pittsburgh (star factor)
Flyers
Next tier
All the other Canadian teams
Blackhawks (many will put this up one tier)
Washington (Ovi)
Next tier
Everyone else

I'm just going to come right out and type it:
Marner > Matthews.
And I'm not knocking Matthews.
But man, the way Marner can create space in a phone booth - it's just fun to watch. - Atomic Wedgie
Nothing to argue here.
When was the last time someone brought up Marner's size since he started playing?
Hasnt even been an issue. |

I am wondering about Marner maybe being like Martin St. Louis and Matthews like Kopitar?
Actually, seems like Marner is more elusive where St, Louis had he more powerful base. I guess the Kane comparison is more apt. |

Before I had season tix, I used to go down to Maple Leaf Gardens at about 2 pm. I'd stand in line - I had my Sony Walkman (tapes, and it also had AM/FM radio, so I could listen to the FAN 1430). Sometime around 4:00 - 4:30 pm, they would release the unused tickets for the away team - Section 93 (east greys).
It never failed. Ever.
I think at the time (this would be early to mid 90s) greys were $17.
And one time for a playoff game, they called me to the window. They were offering rails in the corner for a Leafs-Chicago playoff game. IIRC, they were about $120 each - a fortune for me at the time. But I figured I'd never get to sit so close again, so I took them.
Of course, the Leafs lost.
I still hate Chelios. |

I feel badly about the Leafs winning on Monday. They were basically gifted the game by a questionable call from the refs. - Aetherial
