So...Bozak is 2 points from 50....something he was never able to do with Phil.

My conclusion....Marner > Kessel.

Is Guentzel hurt then? If so, who takes his place on the hottest line in hockey....need to know as there's hockeypool ramifications!
- mykokes

He was bloodied from the hit and couldn't even stand on his own for a bit. Not sure of his status though.

I feel badly about the Leafs winning on Monday. They were basically gifted the game by a questionable call from the refs.

I felt good.

At this point it's, like you said, "getting their feet wet" or a 1-3% chance of winning top 3 spot in the draft. I'd rather them get a taste of playoff hockey even if getting bounced in the first round seems probable. Still going to draft right in the same range anyways.

I agree & think playing in the PO's is a good reward for a good season.
The experience & getting a taste of it makes players hungrier.

will Bobrovsky be in net tonight?
midnight start of the game - way better than 1.30am

expect a few points from Marner tonight - he was really good vs Bruins after a few so so games before + wants to get some payback vs columbus after being injured in game against them.

Go Leafs Go!!

With Boston losing to the lowly Sens, I'm starting to think the Leafs can catch up to them.

Oh and Tampa is back to playing badly again so.... they're probably out.

Interesting. They have a b2b with Washington being the team tomorrow. I wonder if they play Bob tomorrow for the 1st place fight match. Or do they go with the easier 2pts v the Leafs and play Bob tonight...

Question is with B2Bs, does McHillennessy get the start or does Andersen?

I'm just going to come right out and type it:

Marner > Matthews.

And I'm not knocking Matthews.

But man, the way Marner can create space in a phone booth - it's just fun to watch.

I'd 100% put McBackup in against the NJ offense.

I'm a big Marner fan.
Datsyuk has been my favorite player in NHL.
I feel Marner has potential to be Datsyuk vs 2.0.
Potentially the most interesting player to watch due to his creativity.

However I do feel Matthews is just a notch up.
I think as well though that Matthews > McDavid.
Matthews is really something special, as is Marner - just different type of players.

My favority player will surely be Marner, but I do think Matthews at the end is the best player.
[both are great on defense by the way]

They are called "smelling salts" - originally used to bring back people to consciousness when "they had their bells rung."

It's basically strong ammonia.

The idea is to "wake yourself up" - allowing greater mental concentration.

It's also 1930s thinking, and downright stupid. If the league was smart (they aren't), they would ban it.

But hockey players are the absolute worst for keeping it old school - witness them stretching their groins before games, even though it's been definitively proven that static stretching inhibits athletic performance.

Edit: here's an SI article:

I guess they do have a decent amount of down time after NJ. NJ on the 23 then only 25 & 28th before the rest of the schedule goes to hell. Maybe you're right and they should ride Andersen. Has he played back to back yet this season? How'd he do? (How do goalies in general do?)
