Long, in-depth profile on DeBrincat, discussing his attitude, strengths, weaknesses, etc. at the end(?) of his OHL career.

It's good, and I happen to think it's one of the few Hawks-related media outlets worth paying for, but... Is there anything about him, in particular, you're questioning? I can pull across a quote or two.

I like Kempny and argued for his continued play through the year, especially when it was Kempny v Forsling, but Kempny is the 4th best LD-only defensemen on the roster so I don't think he should play. He has the potential, but he's just not currently better than Oduya or Campbell. Since no one on this team except Hjammer can play his offside effectively, the pairings need to be R-L for the best results. I'm also not sure he's better than TVR currently (athletically, sure; but TVR is consistent and reliable), but it's not actually a competition between the two because they don't play the same side.

I now gather TVR is super awesome on some other board

every year they have been worse and worse. I still don't think teams take them at 14 million, even 2 years ago.

They still can't be split up?

Altho who would take them at $7MM each (without salary retention)?

Question for the Blog
Do you like Kero on 4th or 3rd line?
Is Kruger on 3rd for FO or PK because of Hossa as a pair
Or am I splitting hairs over Kero on 4th and Kruger on 3rd??
I like Kruger with Rass , And Like Kero with Hossa for more offense.
Just wanted people's thoughts?

- CTblackhawkfan

If all goes well, the Hawks would have a 3A/3B situation in the bottom 6. Kero is not quite ready for the defensive shutdown role, so I'd have Kero as the offensive b6 center and Kruger as the defensive b6 center.

Schamltz may also be an option for the offensive b6 center, but I think he'd be better suited at wing come playoff time and he was pretty magic with Toews-Panik.

^^This is what really gets me going Hey man you seem like an OK guy, but the vast majority of Vancouver Fans I've encountered on this hockey blog and in 3-Dimensions have been jag-bags. But, I'm sure you're aware of this after the entire town rioted when Boston beat them in Game 7....

Well, this is yet another way to ensure we have a lockout coming up...have not heard a single player say anything other than "I think we should be able to go." Our Captain being one of the more vocal.

you are generalizing a fan base as a whole, and every fan base has their wienerhead fans. I don't live in Vancouver and had no part in the riots, but I was deeply saddened to see it happen on the news. I always liked Chi, and will continue to do so, lots of Canadian talent on that team and a ton of respect with the vast majority of Chicago's players.

What about Anisomov with Hossa and Hartman? So keep the top two line as is right now and just have Anisomov as 3C. They your 4th line is Kruger, Kero and ????

Just spit balling. I doubt they break up the Panarin-AA-Kane line....but food for thought if Hayden and Schmaltz keep playing well.

I can say this is certainly not the case, at least for the Canucks fans I've met in person and the fans I've casually spoken with at games. Every fan base, even ours, has their fair share of moronic fans but we shouldn't judge the entire group by those few. There were very few true Canucks/hockey fans that rioted. Those were just a bunch of idiots who were waiting to riot before the game even started.

For sure, there are plenty of bad apples in every fanbase, Chicago included. Just A LOT of internet troll types with the Vancouver logo on this website and some clowns at Hawks v Nucks games at the UC over the years. I'm a big fan of Bo Horvat, a real asset to my fantasy team's 1st place finish in the Regular Season this year. I think I got him in Round 15 or later....

Here is what I can say about the Vancouver folks, I was up there for a The Who concert shortly after a major surgery. We originally were going to see The Who in Milwaukee, however that become impossible. My wife put the trip together as this is a bucket list concert for us. My wife called the Rogers Arena people and inquired about parking as walking was very difficult at the time. Even through I did not have a handicap placard, they made special arrangements for me underground, escorted us to our seats and back down again after the concert. Total class!

We sat between couples from Edmonton and Winnipeg and Hockey did become the topic of the pre concert. No hostility, just respect for the cups and that we were hockey fans like they were. To me a normal fan respects another love of the sport and that is what we experienced.[/img]

22 + 33 + 23 + 15 all need the boot IMO

Need to wait on proper development of Demko, Virtanen, Boeser, Gaudette, Juolevi and whoever we take early in the 1st round this year. 3-4 years away from next year is no unreasonable.

If we're talking about playoff lines, I'd keep Anisimov with Panarin and Kane rather than put Schmaltz at center. Anisimov has the experience, size, and strength to take on the big tough Western Conference centers who that line will face each game.

Schmaltz seems to improve more and more as the season goes on but I would keep him at LW until next year at the earliest. Centering Panarin and Kane now is more out of necessity yet gives him some reps at a position we hope he will eventually land by his 2nd or 3rd year.

To answer another poster's question, I would have Kero center the 3rd line with Hartman and Hossa and Kruger center the 4th line with a revolving door of Desjardins, Tootoo, Rasmussen, Jurco, and Hinostroza (Hayden too if Schmaltz takes his spot on Toews line with Panik).

I'm sure you visit our boards a bit and hear us talk about the Hawks core. Who would you identify as the Canucks core if you had your way of the Sedins, Edler, and Dorsett finding new teams?

I have posted multiple times in our blogs that we should look to the Chicago model.
Identify your core.
Ship players who you don't identify as your core, at peak value, for best return

Horvat, Baertschi, Virtanen, Boeser, Gaudette, Demko, Juolevi, Brisebois have all been mentioned by management as core pieces moving forward. Along with Hutton.

We will see what we have in Goldobin and Dahlen (seems like a great pickup).

After that, whoever we choose in the 1st/2nd round this year I would probably say has a good chance of being lumped into the "core group".

Toews/Hossa/Kane/Panarin/Keith/Seabrook/Crawfood.
Horvat/Baertschi/Boeser/Virtanen/Juolevi/Brisebois/Demko would be my closest guess.

The sad part is, that apart from Horvat and Baertschi, none of the others are proven.
