The Russian Olympic (B) team have arrived in PyeongChang, South Korea, where two friendly matches will take place against their hosts on the 18th and 19th of March.
Sibir Novosibirsk forward Maxim Shalunov, who had been selected to play, has been left behind in Russia because of a sustained injury.

Dunno, Hossa back tonight though and Hayden is in. I think Hayden sticks until he shows he shouldn't. - John Jaeckel
Yes, please keep him in there. If he plays the final 10 games, that will be about half as many games as Saad started out with in the NHL before he was comfortable and started to shine. Keep Hayden in up top Q! |

Troll post or serious? Benning won't resign them for big money. - Codes1087
I honestly don't know.... I would like to think it was a joke, but the more I think of it the more I think it's a real possibility. Maybe 3 years at $5 million each? |

I could see them signing 1 year deals at a fairly high cap hit ($5mil+) until they decide to hang em up.... |

The smart business decision would be to let them walk at the end of their deals. |

I'd like to see Kempny get some minutes, we don't want him to be too rusty come playoff time in case we need him. |

Hey JJ, do you think Hayden will stick in the lineup when Anisimov and Hossa return?
- DC134

Great answer play generally dictates starts and ice time. |

How much longer for the Jurco experiment?
Does he have to play a minimum number of games to be expansion draft eligible? |

Third pair is going to most likely be Campbell and TVR for the playoffs. Should Kempny play? Yes. Will Q let him? Debatable. |

I like Kempny and argued for his continued play through the year, especially when it was Kempny v Forsling, but Kempny is the 4th best LD-only defensemen on the roster so I don't think he should play. He has the potential, but he's just not currently better than Oduya or Campbell. Since no one on this team except Hjammer can play his offside effectively, the pairings need to be R-L for the best results. I'm also not sure he's better than TVR currently (athletically, sure; but TVR is consistent and reliable), but it's not actually a competition between the two because they don't play the same side. |

Question for the Blog
Do you like Kero on 4th or 3rd line?
Is Kruger on 3rd for FO or PK because of Hossa as a pair
Or am I splitting hairs over Kero on 4th and Kruger on 3rd??
I like Kruger with Rass , And Like Kero with Hossa for more offense.
Just wanted people's thoughts? |

Now that some of the dbags on the Canucks have left (and mostly ended up in Anaheim and Ottawa) I don't mind them so much. Living in Vancouver I do miss the excitement around the city on game day. It's difficult to even strike up a hockey conversation now, people just don't care. |

every year they have been worse and worse. I still don't think teams take them at 14 million, even 2 years ago. |

Bieksa + Kesler + Burrows all gone has been tremendous. Now if only we can get rid of Dorsett.
Unfortunately we have Virtanen who looks to maybe take over as the new poop head in the absence of the above 3. (if he isn't a bust) |
