That's the last time Darling lets someone stand in his way like that.

Carey Price should be in Cook County Correctional for the brutal assaults he puts on forwards who try and reside in his crease. Darling should not go that far, but he should get a lil nasty like Price. He's a large man.

I'm not saying you have to be a Billy Smith, but there's nothing wrong with some shots/pushing to let the guy know you're there and throw him off a bit.

CC looked a twitch slow last night. The whole team looked a little off. Having a hard time hitting passes in the first period. All that and right there in the race for the presidents trophy.

Really? Everything was a tip in or a tap in. And guys are blaming the goalie? Wow.

The first goal ... maybe, although when he saw the shot coming in and it wasn't going blocker side he should have covered the post better which is right were the deflected shot went.

The second goal was a terrible effort at a poke check that left him flopping around on the ice so the goal scorer could just easily tuck it in around him.

He reacted and moved like molasses on goals 3 & 4.

So, yeah, I'd say that was some bad goalie play.

Yeah, I don't think you can really fault the goalies or anything other than the hockey gods in the game last night. Hawks were the better team and they lost. It happens and you move forward. The Canucks were outclassed by a contender.

Nature of the beast on here. Hawks would have to go 82-0-0 with all shutouts to please the masses. The fact that they have the 3rd best record in the league and are still in the hunt for the meaningless Presidents trophy means nothing.

1st round out for sure

They'll go out in 4 straight and be lucky to even score a goal.

45 year old Ryan Miller played exceptionally well and made countless point-blank saves. Crow didn't have it last night, so it goes.

He's had a very good season. I know Miller's stats don't look impressive, but he's kept the Canucks in many games this season even though the team has completely hung him out to dry. It will be interesting to see where Miller ends up next season. I know he wants to stay on the West Coast and Vancouver is probably the only option for him to be a starter. Will Miller accept being a back-up in LA?

He was objectively a Top 5 Goalie on mostly mediocre Buffalo teams for a decade so can't say I'm surprised. He looked great last night during that shooting gallery in the 3rd.

I've always loved that Price gets nasty like that and wish more goalies did. IIRC Price is known for nut shots too. Just poppin' that blade near the seeds for a quick "hey how ya doin gtfo of my crease"

I have noticed a trend lately where Kaner will slap the puck back to the passer if the pass isn't all that. Happened a few times last night as well. In one instance Keith re-returned the favor and barked a bit at him. Something to watch for as the season winds down...

TBF to Jurco. The last couple of games I have seen some signs of life from him to at least have a hope he can turn into a useful piece for next season.

Unfortunately he's strictly an offensive minded guy, he has no puck sense I see why Detroit gave him up. He has much to learn and not enough time to learn it in. 2 wide open nets, rather have Dezi in there at least he's not a liability

JJ's initial scouting report on Jurco included "blazing speed"....my NHL GameCenter Live Feed is fuzzy and laggy often, but I dont see anything close to "blazing speed". Was his injury a lower-body one this year? IDK man you can see the puck skill at times but he just doesnt have the intensity needed for a guy who is on a tryout for both this team and every other NHL club. Soft plays with the puck throughout the game last night and missed a wide open net in the first on a beautiful play from Kero and Moose.

No sure what you want Schmaltz to do. He made a great defensive play and then sutter made one right back. It happens. Hartman Panik and Hayden continue to impress. They are exactly the type of forwards this team was missing.

Here's a couple twists on free agency & the expansion draft that I was not aware of, from the Golden Knight's website:

We now know that the Golden Knights are expected to enter the NHL with exclusive free agency perks.

The team is expected to have an exclusive negotiating window with free agents during the expansion draft - that could potentially be 48 hrs. This would mean that before other teams can begin scooping up existing NHL players, Vegas would have the opportunity to get a head start.

During this two-day stretch, the only team that would be allowed to sign active NHL players is the Golden Knights.

The only catch is that if Vegas signed a player who most recently played for Team X, the Golden Knights would no longer be able to select a player from Team X in the Expansion Draft.

For example, if the Golden Knights sign a player who skated for the Anaheim Ducks during the 2016-17 season, the Ducks would then be exempt from losing any additional players to Vegas in the Expansion Draft.

After the team's exclusive window would expire, it would no longer be able to sign existing free agents until July 1, when the league's traditional signing period begins.

With respect, that was some of the worst defensive man coverage I have seen from the Hawks in years.

Henrik allowed to stand in the crease for minutes...
Nobody pursuing Sutter on both his goals....

Last night was a clear cut case of a superior team not taking its competition seriously.
Doubt it's anything to worry about but dam, those last-second Hawk's comebacks sure are getting old

Same story was repeated in both the Avs and Nucks games. Hawks came out for an exhibition game and forgot that the Nucks are still an NHL team and those guys are all playing for pride and the future of their NHL careers. Miller stole that game, though. Huge save after huge save, regardless of the Hawks spotting them 4 on lackadaisical play. Shots were 49-18 or something, right?

The most likely situation is him being back up to Gibson in anahiem.

Exactly and he can't be on lower lines doing checking or energy. His game is meant for top lines, he's not a grinder but with the emergence of Hayden and Panik up top and PAK going nowhere, Jurco won't get a shot here. Needs to go to a club that can give him some time up top to use his skill/finesse but sadly for him but gladly for us due to Hayden/Panik, this ain't the place for him.

Gotta say I think the worst part of last night's game may have been getting burned on that 2 on 1 by a slick pass from.......... Jack Skille

Holy franking frank. Forget Jurco's lack of awareness the D man was pinching, we got burned by SKILLE !!!!!!!! I don't remember ever seeing him make a play like that in a Hawks sweater. Damn

- Ballam

Skille = oxymoron.

The "great" Dale Tallon received much credit for his job in Chicago. He drafted Skillle. Did he draft those Ruusian firwards andvBacick as well, or was that Smith as GM

Did he draft those Ruusian forwards and Babcock as well, or was that Smith as GM? I am looking to see if he takes the reigns in the GM seat again in Florida. The team appears to be tumbling in the stretch drive.n /quote]

Miller was amazing, agreed.
More surprising then that however, is that y'all allowed the second worst offense in the league to score 5 goals lol.

I would speculate that the playoff fourth line is Kero-Kruger-Tootoo/Desi/Rasmussen
