Maybe Pouliot regressed because he kept showing up to camp out of shape. The local beat writers were all remarking how different DP looked in this years camp. Looked like he finally took his conditioning seriously over the summer. Whose fault is that? Could that have played a role in his "regression"?
Look, I believe teams/coaches can have a negative impact on players, but I don't believe that they ruin them permanently. There are plenty of rumors that DP never really took his career too seriously. Never did additional work and never had the obsessive attitude that's required to stay in the NHL. I remember somebody (sports analyst) was talking about him..... Basically said that DP always did the bare minimum. Would show up at practice like everybody else, but after the required activities, he was a ghost. Compare that to the way Letang does his business.
I think DP is going to be a reclamation product. Maybe Vegas takes him. - madmike71
Honestly just want him gone for the sole reason that I'm tired of hearing about him. So many people inesantly defending a useless player and crying about management mishandling him for the past two years has worn on me. I now know how the anti-Bennett crowed felt. Busts are a real thing and happen frequently. Never forget Angelo Esposito was drafted over Max Paccioretty. 9/10 times, busts can be attributed more to bad draft scouting/strategy than player development. If DP had been drafted in the middle of the first like he should have, no one would give a damn.

I'm right there with you. Tired of hearing about him. His game against NJ was one of the worst games I've ever witnessed from a Penguin player.
I'm more interested in watching this new guy Corrado tonight. |

If Murray wants to curb Ristolainen with yesterday's garbage, I know of a GM in Eastern PA (and 29 other GMs quite frankly) who would be happy to have him. He was probably rushed into the league a bit too soon but is still young and very promising. |

I thought that was Crosby on the break a way until I saw the piss poor move on the goalie, they need to get that kid doing shoot out drills. +5 to his goals per year. |

Whats hilarious is the Sabres fans who think he is already one of the 30 best D in the league, a legit #1 D-Man. All fans over value their best players but Sabres fans are a unique bunch no doubt. I kinda like them. |

I'm only able to listen tot he game cuz F work. Was it really that bad? Bourque is really talking about it a lot. He is always very angry when a slightly dirty hit happens so I can't tell if it's actually bad. |

He stumbled trying to get up. Clearly concussed. We won't be seeing him for a week or two. Let's hope that's all. |

No, it was less than what Kronwall used to do all the time. He did the backwards skating thing and Guentzel(sp) was too busy looking at his feet to see the massive Ristolainen right in front of him. He didn't launch like Kronwall used to do, he just kind of stood there. Guentzel didn't have the puck, but I don't know what Ristolainen is supposed to do there. |
