I've switched to hard lining cold brew espresso and Valium at the same time. Only way I can thoroughly enjoy HB. |

I'm not saying it's the right or wrong decision, but I'd be kinda surprised if they blew out Hakstol after 2 years, if that's what you're implying. - johndewar
Things are stale with the roster.
Hakstol has done some dumb stuff, but I stand by my feelings that a coaching change wouldn't do a whole lot, if anything this year. Probably wouldn't next year.
This is a roster issue IMO. No reason they should have lost this game given whats at stake and how banged up that team was on D. |

This forward core has faltered under three coaches now. Hextall needs to do something. - hereticpride
This is the worst they've ever been though |

That's how I feel, as well.
This roster isn't good enough to compete and there needs to be some changes. I'm not on board with every Hakstol decision, but I don't think his decisions sunk this team this year.
Tonight's game was pretty revealing. Really think they should have won this one. |

Agree.
I thought they would win this one before losing the next 3. |

who do you trade? as of right now simmonds can get the best return but that would put the fans in riot mode? jake and g arent going anywehre. schenn? coots? - bulet13
Depends on what the returns are. You need a group of players that compliment each other. They could trade any of them really. Shot in the dark my guess is that Schenn goes. They really need a pure Center to eventually replace Filppula. And it will be a lot easier to replace Schenn then it will be Simmonds. |

This analysis is sort of visceral, but here goes:
1.) You can't have both Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds on this team. Simmonds brings more (does PK), but they have comparable numbers in lots of ways. I feel like one of them might have to go. I never cared for Brayden Schenn's game much, and that's my choice, but whatever. He has a role and he plays it well.
2.) Andrew MacDonald needs to be dealt with. Despite Hextall's protestations, he's not an NHL player. I don't want to see him playing with Ivan Provorov anymore. That has to stop.
3.) I'm glad Michael Del Zotto worked out for a little while, but I'd prefer to have his spot taken by a younger player in the organization.

I dont understand why you cant have both Schenn and Simmonds on the same team. I understand not wanting MacDonald on the top pairing but saying he's not an NHL player is absurd. He's played solidly for most of the season. |
