No it's a corsi based algorithm designed by James Tanner. If you have good possession stats you will go about .900 the rest of the season to end the season on a spectacular run. Even the Wild who have lost 5 in a row, will get 18 points in the last 11 games.

I would even go as far back as to when they hired a guy with the balls to make bold moves, like P.C. meant they were destined to get back to greatness a season or 2 after he was hired. Only took him 2 seasons to bring the playoffs back.
