I guess the difference now is we have an experienced GM and Pres in JB and TL so an inexperienced coach would be okay...

it's really how you define "successful." the team is a rebuilding team that should be playing youngsters in meaningful situations and allowing them to develop. green has shown, at least at the ahl level, that he can get young players to fully commit. he has shown that he can turn around players who have lost their way.

that is what should be hoped for if he was to coach the big club.

having said that, i don't think any coach (HHOF candidate or pee wee experienced) can make this team successful in the short run. that starts with talent... hopefully young talent. green has shown that he isn't too bad at working with younger players.

but then again...... SYSTEMS!
