so fight him, and if he doesn't fight, then hit him hard and take a run at him, but do it within the rules of the game.. Don't raise an elbow.. Don't be dirty about it.
- Codes1087

Guys go after him every game and he usually comes out on the better side of it, so he's cocky about it. He's a target so he targets back with his mouth after he beats you, the only way you'll actually shut him up is if they get the better of him.

Throwing a bow and running away is embarassing to watch

Have you ever seen Doughty answer the bell? Not defending Tkachul here.... but it's the NHL, that's just the way of things. If you don't answer and fight, you'll get slashed, or elbowed.

yeah, you're right... it was a dangerous hit, probably shouldn't be enjoying it. But I honestly don't have a ton of sympathy for Doughty, he's done a lot of dirty stuff, and i rarely see him answer the bell. He's a great player, but I cannot think of more of a country club player.
- Crazybagoham

Doughty isn't usually a dirty player but he does piss you off by playing right on the line with the little things he does, like Kesler did for years here.

I don't like the hit, but I am 100% enjoying it.

Even though it won't be long before we despise Tkachuk just as much as Doughty, if not more. He's been pretty tame against the Canucks so far, but eventually he'll do something that will really piss off this fanbase.

Doughty touches the puck enough that the hits are there. No one is invincible in this league. He doesn't have to answer the bell, how often does Marchand? You have players to do the fighting for you when you are that good. Every player is vulnerable to getting hit, so players need to just go after hit him then.

I just would rather guys get him back, within the rules of the game. Nobody was impressed with the outcome of Bertuzzi/Moore (not even in the same category as Tkachuk/Doughty). All I am saying, is that everyone in this league can be hit, and those hits can all be within the rules of the game. Pay him back, but do it honorably without all the cheap/dirty poop.

I 100% disagree.

Hit him like a man.

That chickensh1t cheapshot stuff has no place in the league.

Only 1?wow never thought it would be so low..... Top pairing guys will usually get in a few scraps during the year, given the amount of minutes they play..... that's why i don't have sympathy for Doughty..... 1 fight and you consider yourself a Norris candidate?

How many times did Nic Lidtrom Fight. Duncan Keith. Brent Burns. PK Subban. Fighting and Norris should NEVER been mentioned under the same breathe.

You have to answer the bell as a defenceman imo, even HANK got in a little fight this year. It's 2017 and that's a glaring hole in Doughty's game, if you fight.... guys like Tkachuk wouldn't take liberties on you.

Not saying it has to happen every night or anything, but Subban will lose patience, drop the gloves just to get all the dirty poop out of the way. It's the code in the NHL.

I profoundly disagree that you should NEED to fight if you are a top pairing defenseman. I also disagree that you should not be in the Norris race if you don't fight. They don't pay you that money to fight, they pay you that money to keep the puck out of your net. As a top pairing Defenseman, your job is to play 22+ minutes a night and be on the ice when needed, not off for 5 minutes..

A suspendable cheap shot to the head & u call it liberties.
Only u can make that comparison he has to fight to avoid a dirty play.

I personally think, regardless of position, every player needs to be able to fight. You have to be able to defend yourself, and to get guys off your back. There's a reason PK/Brent Burns/Weber/Hedman always seem to have more space, they don't back down from guys. at the end of the day, one of the best d man in the world got rocked by a 19 yo.

this is all opinion though, what style of hockey you like.

It is liberties? tkachuk took advantage of Doughty in a bad spot? It was a dirty hit, no-one is disputing this.

I think guys like doughty, Marchand, and even tkachuk to a lesser extent are the type of players where I don't mind this stuff happening to ...if they are going to walk that line then they better be prepared to receive questionable treatment

Doughty didn't seem too upset about it post game and even was a little bit complimentary on how tkachuk played him

Thought Doughty handled it with class actually, admitted it was dirty, but still kind of gave tkachuk props for playing him so hard.

I'm thinking Tkachuk will have a huge target on his back now

Tkachook made a really dirty play... no room in the game for that... if wants to hit doughty do it clean... this below the belt stuff is ridiculous...
