Can't believe I'm cheering for stupid Boston,
But I do NOT want the f*cking Leafs to make the playoffs

Although it would be kinda fun to watch the Caps destroy them

Sam might be our best player in front of the net
Nice screen that doesn't show up on the scoresheet

As far as our lines going forward...
I feel like Jack should be able to produce regardless of who he's with
I'd try something like this:

Ennis-Eichel-Okposo
Foligno-O'Reilly-Gionta
Kane-Reinhart-Bailey

*at some point, Nylander will move into that top9
Maybe Fasching or Baptiste can jump in next season?
Or try Girgensons on one of O'Reilly's wings?
If we can get Nash from NyR, play him w Jack and do something like
Ennis-O'Reilly-Girgensons/Baptiste
For next season

I know most have given up on Ennis,
But if we're stuck with him I'd like to see him play somewhere he has a chance to produce

All i can say is, it's going to be an interesting offseason.

Agree
I'm not worried about the forwards at all

Biggest priority is bringing in two top4 defensemen
If we do that,
I can live with a Gorges-Bogo 3rd pair
And that would allow us to not rush Guhle into a top4 role
I don't wanna put too much on his plate too soon

You honestly didn't read any of the points about sam.. no one said he is bad.. just said given his peers we would've expected a little bigger bump in his development this year.

and if we're going to be a good team he needs to be more consistant in both ends.
AGAIN, HE IS NOT BAD AT ALL

What have his "peers" done? Draisaitl is good, Bennett is pretty meh, Dal Colle hasn't even played a game yet I don't think, Virtanen has bust written all over him. You have to go all the way to 8, Nylander, to get to someone else who is good this year. Someone there's not a chance in hell we were taking at 2. The only guy we could've taken there was Draisaitl or Bennett.

Ehlers, fabbri, Pasta, nylander and Draistl have all found a new gear this year. We should want him to be the best. Yes he is good, yes he is young and yes we should want him to take another step

You could say that about everyone on our roster though

MY point is that some on here harp on Sam constantly
It would be A LOT more productive to focus on the problem
Sam is NOT the problem
Not even a little

Stop trying. It's not worth it. No matter how many times you say he's not bad, we said he's bad

Unless Sam get some 70pts his production just won't be good enough for the "#2 overall pick"
At least thats what some would have u believe

He's trending up
I really don't see the problem

What isn't getting through to you? He said he expected Reinhart to find another gear, take it up a notch this year like some of his peers in his draft class. He's been ok this year. Hasn't made a big jump.

No one said 70 points or bust.

Good grief this gets frustrating

He's never gonna be a flashy exciting player to watch
That's not his style of game

And improving 16% or whatever it was is pretty good
Especially for a guy who's constantly moved all over the lineup and spends a lot of time at a position that relatively new to him

I don't need him to find this imaginary "gear"
I need him to keep improving...
which he is

What don't YOU get about focusing on someone who's actually part of the problem?
It's not really a complicated idea

We can all talk about the Defense until ur blue in the face but why wouldn't you want your #2 overall pick to have at least 55-60 points and play strong defensively ?
