Ott?

Still don't know if I'd like them to resign him...guy really seems to love the team and looks like a good teamate to have around as a 13th forward.

Maybe he can train faceoffs with Galchenyuk this summer and improve him to 45%.

sadly yes, because MB couldn't trade for a top center. hopefully he will this summer.

LOL awesome. Game winner last night happens because Galchenyuk wins a defensive zone battle. He's not a wizard in the FO dot, sure, but to say he's lost in the D zone is exaggerated to say the least.

Then you expect Bergevin to go get who as 1C? Duchene? You'll be frustrated with his defensive play, much like you are with Galchenyuk. Same with Spezza, Seguin, Thornton, Giroux etc.

Crosby's are only acquired one way, and Montreal is not tanking any time soon.

Well it would be nice to have a Pavelski, Kopitar, Carter or Kuznestov and they weren't first overall picks.

Also, I don't think I'd be frustrated with Joe Thornthon's defensive play

Yeah but people around here seem to think drafting is unimportant after the 1st round. Better trade those picks to be a borderline playoff team forever.

Well statistically your chances of finding an impact player decreases drastically after the first round.

But I agree that the habs don't have enough punch on offense to be contenders and should keep their picks at this point and play the odds.

Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, David Krejci, 2nd round picks...Brad Marchand 3rd rounder...Bruins won a cup with a group of 2nd round picks.

Drafting is not an exact science, the more picks you have the more chances you get to draft a good player. Habs have been trading their 2nd round picks for a while now...look where it got them.

Timmins is part of the problem, but he hasn't had a 2nd round pick since the 2013 draft. Stuff like that is going to hurt your prospect pool long term.

2 years in the last 8 they had 2nd rounders...there are still good players there even though they're harder to find.
