He was on the 4th line.......I mentioned nothing about special teams. You dont draft a guy 5th overall and not allow him a fare shot at trying out. Its lunacy... - kindlyrick
So I guess Doug Weight was the 4th line Center? I had season tickets.. I watched him Suk the first 2 weeks. He was moved down b/c he was terrible. He had stone hands, gave the puck away constantly and could not play a lick of defense. He had a shot.. he was not good. |

Looks like Bailey is sick and that's why he isn't at practice and Quine was just filling in for him on PP1 during practice. Apparently Weight thinks Bailey will be fine to go tomorrow. - eichiefs9

Yes I was and what happened with Garth? I know he was there last year but I didn't see him this year. I know there were GM meeting in Florida that day so I wasn't expecting to see him regardless |

Clutterbuck is garbage and, forgetting the laundry-list of other things, Snow should be fired simply for signing him to that contract alone. - eichiefs9
come on eichiefs. Clutterbuck been injury ridden all year. Look at every other year he has had as Islander.
Oh also Isles Rangers tomorrow - Its Clutter time. |

It's a really bad contract for a guy who's best year with the Islanders yielded 23 points, is 29 years old, is bad defensively, and plays in a style that will only continue to lead to his body breaking down.
I love what he brings, but it's unfathomable that he got a 5 year deal at nearly $4M. |

C'mon you've been on this board long enough. When things are going good everybody is great and when they struggle everybody sucks. Last year Cizikas & Clutterbuck were great. Now they both suck That's just the way it works on here |

Just some more drama with his Kid's team. just really childish stuff. It's not my kid so I can't speak to it personally but a LOT of people are ticked off at him. He seems to just be an immature jerk. |

Sounds about right. Your kid playing next year? I know my kid has tryouts tonight and tomorrow for next year already. The season just ended a few weeks ago lol |

Maybe "bad" is a slight exaggeration, but I wouldn't call him a defensive specialist. Not saying this is what you're doing, but I feel like a lot of people assume that physical, gritty checking-forward = solid defensive player. |

I hear ya. I think he is pretty solid on the D side of things. He is having a tough year due to injuries but that contract is going to come back to bite them along with Boychuk, Ladd, Cizikas etc etc. Snow doesn't care because he won't be there when that happens. Hopefully there will be another lockout with a couple of buyout options lol |

Yes.. we are still going out of Iceworks though.. so next week. I think u sat at table next to us at dinner. They do the tryouts right after the season b/c they don't want anyone to poach the kids. it is dumb though b/c some kids work all summer, or growth spurt, or development spurt, and should be placed in better teams. Other kids should be on worse teams.. Silly to place these kids in March for a season that starts in Oct. |

I agree. I thought they were merging the sound tigers with the Islanders this year? What level is he playing at next year? Good luck with the tryouts |

Got that right for sure. It's a facking joke how expensive it is. Only good thing is the Ferraro brothers will be coaching his team this year. Having ex professionals coach is a big plus for their development - Vukota
That's good news, I remember seeing them skating in the summer with Higgins, Komisarek, some D1 guys and others at Alexei's camp at the Rinx.
Not married and no kids, but I'm not even sure if I'd want my kid to play hockey when I have one. Love the damn sport but it's brutal on the wallet. |

Yeah its huge. Then ran a couple of practices for us this past year and it was like night and day. Plus I went to school with them up until Jr high when they moved to further their careers. Yeah its absolutely brutal on the wallet |

Good primer if you're interested in the Frozen Four.
Isles have 4 prospects playing for 2 teams in the tournament.
Bellows/Somerby for BU (vs. North Dakota - Friday 3/24 @ 3pm)
and
Bischoff/Cammarata for Minnestoa (vs. Notre Dame - Saturday @ 3:30)
Looks like I know what I'm doing from 3pm on at work on Friday. |
