Can we stop bringing up this turd? He was a a-hole that thought he was better than he was.. He is gone. He and his dopey agent thought He was better than Strome, Lee and brock Nelson. They thought he was a top line wing.. he wasn't and isn't. Let it go... - niteislander
Nino was still not handled correctly. Playing him the entire year with crap players instead of JT was not the right thing to do. Regardless of how Nino or his agent acted. More examples of Garth being a lousy GM. |

they gave him the chance to play on the NHL level b/c they thought he had done all he could in juniors (See Barzal this year). It's a dumb rule that u go to Juniors or stay in NHL. He was given time on the Power play and often played on other lines.. not just the 4th line. He missed more point blank shots in front than anyone I have ever seen. I talked on these boards about being scared he did not have the hands to be a top 6 wing at the time. (it caused quite a lot of stir at the time)..Putting him on JT's wing would have been beyond stupid. The following year instead of just playing in the AHL, developing his game more.. and getting called up when they wanted He and his dopey agent decided to cry. .... he is a dope and he is STILL not a top 6 winger. |

Whats absolutely crazy to me is they had their top 5 pick playing on the 4th line all season, and then didnt even invite him to try out. How do you not even get an invite to try out???? |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51egtDyE8AE Here is his first NHL goal (and I think the only one he scored that year).. Doug Weight was the Center. I guess Doug was the Center of the 4th line that year. (the point is they moved him down when it was obvious he was not up to the task. he still had PP time and could not score). |

Regardless of opinions of his game......the fact that remains that he was Garths top 5 pick and was not even invited to camp. Imagine Barzal not being invited to camp this past year? (and he wasnt even a top 5 pick) |

He was on the 4th line.......I mentioned nothing about special teams. You dont draft a guy 5th overall and not allow him a fare shot at trying out. Its lunacy... |

Come on man the kid was completely mishandled. He played the majority of his career with us on the 4th line with Reasoner who had one goal on the year. He was getting sometimes 4 minutes a night. It's not even up for debate if I were his agent I would've lost my shat too. This management team has mishandled just about every (frank)ing one of our prospects this is nothing new. |

His agent may have misplayed his hand but that doesn't change the FACT that he was completely mishandled and not given a chance to succeed with this team. |

If it weren't a constant thing with them mishandling prospects then Nino to me would be an anomaly and a shat head. Since they mishandled just about every (frank)ing prospect that comes through their system he has got a point and a very legitimate one at that. Staple pans the Nino's, Roloson's, and Halak's and the fans follow suit. Every one of these players were mishandled, mistreated, or saw what was wrong with this club. Listening to Staple is like taking CNN and msnbc seriously. I disagree and I can care less whether Nino is a dack head or not he's a good player we desperately need and a 5th overall pick that turned into cal (frank)ing cluttetbuck of all people and his albatross contract. Yeah (frank) Nino and his agent I'm not thinking that when I see Alan (frank)ing Quine on the first pp unit. |

Nino was completely mishandled but it was Cappy that really put the nail in the coffin burying him on the 4th line so he can learn the complete game? what a difference in thinking with Weight
Even with Nino gone, Clutterbuck has meant all that and more to our team. Also Lee is better than Nino. |

Clutterbuck is garbage and, forgetting the laundry-list of other things, Snow should be fired simply for signing him to that contract alone. |

Looks like Bailey is sick and that's why he isn't at practice and Quine was just filling in for him on PP1 during practice. Apparently Weight thinks Bailey will be fine to go tomorrow. |

If I remember correctly that camp was only two weeks because of the lockout. Not saying it makes it right or wrong but it wasn't your usual preseason camp. I remember reading he was starting that season in BP regardless and they basically used those two weeks for practices with the big squad to get ready for the season. Again not taking sides here but it was different circumstances surrounding that camp. |

This isn't about defending the poor decisions. This is a case were everyone involved was wrong. The Isles have mishandled a whole bunch of players. I don't think there is anyone that would disagree. But unlike Halak, Nino was an unproven rookie. You don't see Berube publicly complaining and he's being horribly mistreated. Who knows if the kid could be a decent goalie if he actually got to play regularly in the AHL. Instead he's been rotting away in the press box or on the bench.
Just to be clear, Snow is a (frank)ing egotistical stubborn moron. He lets his feelings get in the way of doing the right thing for the team. The Isles have gone as far as they can under his leadership. Until he's gone they will always be a bubble team that will likely be booted in the first round of the playoffs, if they even make it. Snow's love affair with low level talent is baffling. Maybe he sees those guys as a reflection of himself. I just hope that a new PoHO will come in and can his ass. It's the only way to stop this cycle.
BTW You were happy we got Clutterbuck at the time. So was I but I don't like his contract. |

I would legitimately give up a 3rd round pick to get McPhee to agree to take Clutterbuck in the expansion draft. |
