Having Sheary, Guentzal and Sprong around makes me happy for the Penguins wingers. Adding in Kessel and Rust means the next few years should be fun.

Don't forget about that new Aston guy.

They're even now, with Crosby having played 6 games less than McDavid due to injury. Crosby is 1st in P/GP and both teams have 11 games left to play. Statistically, Crosby SHOULD win by 2 points...

It should be a tight race thought. And it can change in a heartbeat (Jamie Benn scored 10 points in his last 3 games in 2014-2015 to win the scoring title).

Same number of games left to play for each...if each player continues with current ppg average, than sid will win.

I think he was referring to the animal skin wooden frame cone shape tents. Probably figures Australians live in these just like Canadians live in igloos. We must forgive him, Americans don't learn about much but themselves in school.

Also, me responding to you proves that you are indeed not talking to yourself.

Jagr in Pittsburgh? It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Get over it and appreciate his time in Pittsburgh and the fact that he can still compete with all these youngsters.

I just thought he was on a bender - indigineous Australians didn't sleep in tents as far as I know - they liked using natures natural shelters! (actually have arguably the oldest cave paintings in the world)

I did hear that American schools history lessons were just that - American history.

Don't ever argue with a hawks fan. they really don't even know what offside means over there. But then again in a league run where teams like Chicago Philly and Boston always get the benefit of the doubt(ownership) then it's no surprise that these teams have the rules bent for them.

I watched the Toronto Chicago game at the end on the weekend and still think the winning goal was offside. Last night that Toews play was beyond offside. Incredible to me the NHL can't even get its own rule right. They have to do away with reviewing offside. It's not worth the NHL looking so stupid every time they do it.

Also don't even get me started on torts last night...that should be a massive fine or suspension for making the refs look foolish.

Why aren't power play goals considered "actual" goals?
- jmatchett383

I thought that line in the blog was absurd. I guess if a game event can't fit into a 5 v 5 chart then it doesn't count. Which is odd, because both power play and empty net goals count on the scoreboard and all other types of stats.

I think that's a nice set of young forwards to surround Sid/Geno/Kessel for a while. We probably don't need to make a top 6 splash at forward anymore. (Never thought I'd say that).

Just please let this be the last expansion draft for like 20 years. That poop is exhausting.

Ian cole having a really good statistical year. I wander what his next contract will run?

146 hits blocked shots 175 (second to Karlsson; admittedly not someone I expected to lead the league in that category)

5 goals 17 assists 22 pts.

Of course a defender can be awful and block a lot of shots/hits.

But on these simple measures compares well to the guy traded for Taylor Hall.

Larrson
4 goals 13 assists 210 hits 128 blocked shots.

Longer-term no goalie controversy. And this year I think it would take a murray injury with MAF performing too well to bench in the playoffs. Longer-term the better fleury plays the greater the chance we need to retain very little on fleury so helps our cap.

Murray will still be the guy this year, but if he struggles with his glove in the playoffs (like he has recently), I could easily see MAF taking his spot.

I don't think it would change anything long-term. Murray is the guy because of age and contract term.

I have a feeling if MAF keeps playing well, MM will have a short leash in the playoffs. I think MM will be fine, but it would be great if MAF comes in and leads the Pens to a cup. It would be a story book ending for him.

Honestly I feel 100% better knowing that Fleury is playing this way right now. If MM struggles it won't be MAF coming in after 1 month+ time off due to injury like last year.
Having MAF dialed in and hungry is a good thing for the Pens.

I still feel this team has another gear to hit come playoff time (if ever we get healthy) which will improve whichever tender is in nets save %.

Yes, kinda, but its a good thing. Having them both healthy and at top of their game would pay dividends not only in posteason but offseason as well.
