Trade 30million of salary? Yeah because that's possible.
- Crazybagoham

Wow that would be something if it was all of them lol. Just looking at one of them in a totally speculative way. Why put the / as in or sign. Sedins being treated as one move. Like I said totally doubt it. But if their is a crack of light there that would be the theoritical behind it I guess.

NAH u fail to see we don't need more wingers.
We need playmaking C & stud D.
Brisebois is a better prospect than Subban.
U say every position & don't add wingers.

Just proving my point, thanks

They all have NMCs and won't opt to be moved. LE maybe, but Melnyk is one of the cheapest owners in the league and would never touch his 6x6 deal.

Ottawa would own half of team sweden though

so Patrick > Nico is what you're saying?
- Codes1087

I want nothing to do with Patrick. I kind of hope we don't win the lottery so he isn't an option. The 4th or 5th spot would be ideal. Grab Mittelstad or Vilardi. Nico is a pipe dream

Oh of course not, he just seems really risky. This draft is odd.
- Crazybagoham

Nico is not risky...he is a stud! Go back and watch a full WJC game

I've been thinking the same thing lately, though I would like a chance to get Liljegren....he hasn't left the top 5 for long in the last year and a half. He just seems like a valuable pick to me.

You literally said before, that we don't want to (for some reason) waste the Dahlen/goldy trade. But you want to Trade Tanev straight up for a winger?

You can't even keep track of your own nonsense.

- Crazybagoham

I'm not here to argue & straighten u out.
U find where i said i said we need wingers?
Either follow all the posts or not idc.

He stinks of Yakupov. I don't like picking a 1 dimensional player so high in the draft (drouin comes to mind, while a very good player.... probably should have been drafted 7-15 imo). Just comes down to preference I guess, I honestly think Nico's ranking is padded because of the World Junior performance ( I watched every game). That's why I said risky, not a knock on his game at all.

(edit) QMJHL too.... where numbers always look better than they actually are.

Ottawa are projected to have 33 mil in cap space next year. I can think of three swedes that all look alike on our team that might like to go play with their buddy Burrows for a year.
- VANTEL

What exactly would they give Van in return? I'm pretty sure Ottawa fans are annoyed they took so long to move on from Alfreddson and Speeza.

I am baffled at this comparison. Where do you get this? How is he one dimensional?

Wasn't gonna post this because it's the furthest thing from credible... But I figure not much is credible these days anyway, and it's interesting, so what the hell.

Some guy on twitter (likely a troll/liar) claims to have overheard Benning on his cell @ YVR discussing the draft's playmaking centres with a scout... Only reason this (probable tall tale) intrigued me is he claims Benning prefers Pettersson to Hischier. I was already pretty high on Pettersson & somehow wasn't even considering his connection/chemistry w/ Dahlen... Thought provoking to say the least.

- DrChristianTroy

Maybe the fact that Benning wasn't thinking they weren't drafting top 2 at the time and around the 5-8 range. I've had Pettersson in my top 10 for a long while but not ahead of Nico.

For starters the Sens only have 9.6m projected cap space.
Secondly a penny pinching owner.
Nice in theory but the Sedins r not waiving to go to Ottawa.

Tanev for a winger & waste the trades for Goldy & Dahlen?
BB is in the pipeline already. JV learning to be a pro.
Other moves needed to free up the logjam would be needed then.

- Nighthawk

Tanev for picks. yup.

good offensively in Europe/Junior... doesn't play defence? He's a centre too, I'm not saying the kid won't produce in the NHL, but if he doesn't.... he's a wasted pick. That's why I wouldn't touch him in the top 3 personally. though it certainly is all preference, and opinion. This guy is really going to decide the Draft order. Patrick is also as risky a pick I must say.

To whom & what pick is better than keeping Tanev if not a hockey trade?
Or do more trades follow up moving him?

Nico isn't anything like Yakupov and he certainly isn't one dimensional. Do you have bias against European players?
