I am really against trading Tanev for top 6 help. Van isn't in a win now situation. Even if that player coming back is 24-26 years old, Van has
Sedin Sedin Loui
Baertschi Bo Goldy or BB
Granlund Sutter Goldy or BB

So one of those players doesn't get to play or someone drops down to the 4th line. If Van get's lucky (i know) and walks away with a top 2 pick, where does that person play.

Ottawa are projected to have 33 mil in cap space next year. I can think of three swedes that all look alike on our team that might like to go play with their buddy Burrows for a year.

Considering it was Doughty, I was ok with it

Maybe can force the Sedins into reuniting with Burrows if we r lucky.
A budget team so bet on more penny pinching. We can dream though lol

Melnyk is the biggest cheap skate owner in the league. Biggest Muppet.

Granlund to have wrist surgery, timetable for return will be provided after the surgery.

well done by Canucks org/Granlund, while I would have liked to see Granlund get #20.... he's been playing his ass off and should get healthy as soon as possible before next training camp.

Boring hockey. What he has he done lately is what matters.
If he cannot make the PO's with what he has in LA i cannot see how he can develop our kids when in Calgary he didn't get it done.

Kudos to Sutter on his 2 cups but I'm no fan of his.
Runs a team that struggles for offence every year.
Not his fault though that Lombardi saddled him with bad contracts.

Adding to my no to Sutter is he doesn't develop players.
He coaches a veteran team ok but missing the PO's is a poor result this year.
Hardly any reason he makes any sense coaching the Canucks. Torts 2.0

Wasn't gonna post this because it's the furthest thing from credible... But I figure not much is credible these days anyway, and it's interesting, so what the hell.

Some guy on twitter (likely a troll/liar) claims to have overheard Benning on his cell @ YVR discussing the draft's playmaking centres with a scout... Only reason this (probable tall tale) intrigued me is he claims Benning prefers Pettersson to Hischier. I was already pretty high on Pettersson & somehow wasn't even considering his connection/chemistry w/ Dahlen... Thought provoking to say the least.

There is really no point in guessing whether Sutter should be the next coach until we hear from our resident coaching expert. If he doesn't endorse him it's a moot point.

Of course @23 he is a part of the youth.
Goldy was sick & nothing to do with ice time.
Lose 15#'s is not easy to deal with.

Yup pretty much. Like they timed it. One youth in. One out.
