1) Saturday. Not that it matters because the outcomes was an OTL or SOL but, I honestly never knew possession negated offside (even though he didn't have possession ) . As someone who has played every year for nearly 25 years, I honestly thought if you skated into the zone backwards with the puck it was still offside. Is this one of those "only in the majors" type rules?

It probably is a coincidence, since the more likely cause is that due to the condensed schedule he had almost no practice time during the middle of the season and now he's back to normal.
