He spoke today about just recently starting to feel confident that he won't reinjure his hip and that he's finally starting to feel like himself. This gives me some confidence that he can have a bounce back year next season. He may never be quite the player he was at 25, but if he can improve his ES play and put up 25 goals and 65-70 points, that's a legit 1C these days. - BiggE
I expect him to improve. He has looked much different the last month or so, and it's been noticeable in stats and tape, even with the naysayers trying to disagree. People got in crazy mode the last few months with him, wanting to trade him for a late 1st and cap dump. Proclaiming the end was near, disaster ahead. I expect him to be able to hit those numbers for several years yet. He only has to return to 2nd/3rd line scoring to do so probably given his PP work. And he'll have more talent to play with, besides his own regression to the mean.
But still. The entire team is having terrible, backwards years outside PP1. Did every single player on the team also have hip surgery? It does make me cautious in projecting point totals, even if he feels/looks better, because the issues are with more than just individuals, healthy or not. |

Amazingly a 23 year old goaltender with all that potential netted the same return as a 35 year old rental dman Pavel Kubina. A 2nd and 4th round pick. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise considering who the GM was in both trades. - PLindbergh31
Kubina was cooked.... but he was also a two-time former NHL All-Star (one year stepping out due to injury), and those don't come cheaply as rentals, even in their mid-30s. Also, Jagr opined that he thought his countryman still had one big run left in him. He and the Flyers were wrong. |

And that is why I'm far from sold on Hak yet. Not calling for his head, but I need to see a much better all around performance from this team next season |

Look I get that the broadcast crew has to keep the people interested but did JJ really just say "the Flyers only have 5 teams in front of them for a playoff spot now." |

I really hope they don't bring back Del Zotto, his defensive awareness just has vanished |

He's a frustrating player. When he's on he's absolutely electric. He's one of those guys that I think would benefit being paired with a strong defensive defensemen. Otherwise you're just asking too much of the guy. |

After seeing how this years draft class is shaking out, I would prefer to see Hexy explore trading the pick for a young NHL or close to NHL ready forward prospect with top 6 potential.
Probably just a pipe dream but none of these players I am really enamored with. Especially in the 6-10th pick range where I am guessing they pick this year.
If he keeps the pick that is fine too. But I think if he could find a partner that fits my criteria I would pull the trigger. |

I'm beginning to think his success had more to do with Gudas than him being good.

The Weise hat trick there on that shift. A failed corral of an outlet pass, a successful body check on provorov taking him off the puck, and a drop pass in the neutral zone to a hurricane |

Yes he is. But good MDZ, like from last year, was good too. Shouldn't be shortchanged entirely |

It just seems MDZ loses coverage in the offensive zone for a break away or odd man rush at least a couple of times a game. Asking Gudas to skate back quickly is asking a lot. It would be nice to have another righty on the blue line next season

Anything that nets us a legit top 6 forward prospect or young player I am cool with.
Maybe that move gets made by a team that wants one of the top D men in this class? Off the top of my head the Avs could have serious interest in a move like that. |

I think he's more of a neutral type dman. He's not going to hurt a good dman, but he's not going to help a bad dman. |
