To be fair to Matthews, it's a tad insulting comparing his effort and defensive play to Phil Kessel. It's a tad insulting comparing my 5 year old daughter's effort and defensive play to Phil Kessel.

Good game tonight and good blog by Mike. Have to agree with Q and his assessment of your team. Having been a hockey/Blackhawk fan for 50 of my 59 years, I like your forwards.....speed and skill is always a great combo. Just need that top pair D pairing like we have and you'll be a force for quite awhile. Good luck the rest of the way, hope you guys end up someone ending the Habs season!!!!

I haven't seen the goal, so I'm not going to comment on it. I will say you probably shouldn't expect consistent perfection. We've all seen Matthews back check like a demon and break up plays that most rookies don't have the foresight to do. If he dogged it on one play then that sucks, but to say Marner would have tried harder is pretty silly. You can't know that for certain.
