He's a breath of fresh air and I loved him as a player but I think we're better suited with a more experienced coach in the long run.

On that subject, I know Hitchcock is the most respected available coach...but it would be shortsighted for us to ignore that he's well known for riding his vets and not giving young guys much playing time. I'm afraid that if we hired him we would see guys like 13/66/72 struggle to get playing time.

I've never been a Hitchcock fan. He's a good coach but to me he's the 2nd coming of Jaques Lemaire. Great coaches just not something I want to watch and everything you just pointed out. Also, don't think for a second I want Weight as a coach next season but I respect him none the less for being up front and holding his team accountable. I'd have no issue with him remaining in some capacity other than head coach or PP coach for that matter. Maybe a role like Cairns has now and if he wants something more it was nice knowing you Weight I wish you the best.

I think during that reddit thing that Staple did he said that if Weight wasn't the head coach next year he would probably just focus on his Asst. GM position.

The way this team plays defense, Lemaire is tempting sometimes.

I like Weight but A fresh start would be best. Weight as player development might work.
