Not with ROW. - bgainesDM
Toronto has two games in hand. The race isn't as close as it looks. The Isles will need a lot of help to get in. Yes it could happen, but the odds are very much against it.
Also the Isles play the first 4 games in April on the road before finishing at home. That's a nice built in excuse for them.
EDIT:
You're right the Isles have the tie breaker against Tampa Bay. |

Not making excuses. But it's not over till it's over. If I didn't give up after the Colorado and Arizona loses, why would I give up now? |

You can root for another team right now. Don't need that pessimism. I stick with the team no matter the lows and highs. - bgainesDM
I can care less what you think you're more inconsistent than the team you cheer for. I've seen your opinion change from page to page on this thread depending on which way the wind blows. I've generally stayed away from responding to you because you're just not worth my time. I don't value anyone's opinion when they really don't have one. You unfortunately fit that description. |

You beat my edit. You're right the Isles have the tie breaker against Tampa Bay.
I'm not saying give up, or root against them or anything like that. I'm only pointing out they are in a tough spot. The thing that annoys me is two weeks ago the numbers were in their favor and they let it slip away. Now they need either to go out and tear it up for 11 games or hope 2 other teams tank. |

I'm also not giving up, but they are not playing close to a playoff team lately. They played with some good discipline when Weight took over, but they have regressed now. |

My tune may change on certain players from time to time. However, I will never give up on my team. That part will never change. |

I was hoping our bouncing boob initiative would cause a ground swell of support for the Isles and propel them solidly into the playoffs. Sadly it hasn't worked. |

Well your probably younger than me and haven't been dealing with the constant 2 steps forward 3 steps back inconsistant BS this team has been for the last 20 years.
To make it worse that is all after watching this team when they were the best in the league, and won 4 Stanley cups, so I am also routing against them because I'm hoping that will finally bring around a needed GM change and that will be the beginning of a new needed direction for this team. |

If they don't have Pulock and Halak up here in time for the Ranger game then I will be utterly convinced that Snow is more concerned with BPT's playoffs than the Islanders. |

Toronto has 2 games in hand one is tonight vs hawks and that a tough game. so hope they lose and we are tied with 1 less game, still very doable. tampa has the caps also a tough game and how long can they win that hurt? isles are a disgrace |

With Halak, maybe. But not addressing the abhorrent defense on this team when he has a perfectly acceptable alternative in Bridgeport is wanton disregard for the Islanders' playoff chances.
I'm over the "Pulock needs to play top pairing minutes in Bridgeport" excuse. In the past I agreed with it, but at this point it's irrelevant. He's an NHL player and needs to be here. Putting that aside for a moment, Pelech/Mayfield have both played with our #1 defenseman at various points this season. If they can handle getting Leddy-minutes then there is absolutely no reason that Pulock couldn't do it as well. |

They basically need to win 9 out of their last 11 games. We all know it's not going to happen, the season is essentially over, save for an unlikely Islanders surge or an equally-unlikely complete and utter collapse by TBL/TOR. |

I'm 25. I remember the really worse times than this. Trust me. I dealt with the rebuilds. I've dealt with the stupid firing of Laviolette. Emotionless Scott Gordon. Rick Bowness. When I was a baby, my family took me to games and ironically one of them was the game where Turgeon got cheapshotted by Dale Hunter. So, yeah. I've dealt with a lot worse than this. And this honestly hasn't been that bad. All we honestly need is a analytics savvy HC. Media people as well as former players have praised management for our draft picks. I'll only call for his firing if he fails to hire the right coach. We finally now, not 3 years ago or 5 years ago, now, we finally have a loaded farm system with a lot of potentially great talent. Just need the coach to bring them out. If ownership can talk Snow into firing Capuano, I'm sure they can pressure him into completing the 2nd half of his job and finding the right coach. |

This is more than likely the reason if the Isles get into the POs. |
