It's awesome to see a guy who struggled a bit in the AHL find his way in the NHL. This is why I think it's good to give our prospects a game or two in the NHL just so they know what they need to do in order to stick around in the NHL. I'd even give Nylander a game or two before the end of this season.

the ahl game is more scrambly and some have real trouble adjusting to that...the nhl's more structured and for a player like Rodrigues, who's got some pretty good smarts and some pretty good instincts as to where he is and where every one else should be, it's simply easier for him to find his game

I agree with this, so that's why it seems pointless to me to send every player down to the AHL for a lengthy stretch. If we can find out who's game excels in the NHL style of play, then let's not waste their time or screw up their development.
