Doesn't end...I'd like to sid a little more selfish. He forces a few too many to sheary and it goes no where. Also getting tired of the first pp unit. The worst shift of the whole period was those 5 guys on the ice ON THE PP. - taleisyreXIII
My only complaint with that line is they seemingly try to make the perfect play too much. Too many of those long cycles are being wasted. As a whole, I think the team has that mindset right now. Get the f'n puck on net. |

I like the Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel line a lot so I can get behind that.
Ima have to replace Kuhnhackl with Rust though. - Victoro311
I'd rather have rust than kuhn too but I figured rust is out for the season. |

If they dumped the puck in he may be useful. This trying to carry it in after the drop pass at center has been a waste of time. |

Nice jump into the boards by cousins...big smiles and laughs at the bench prove it too. |

I assume he's out there to stand in front of the tender unfortunately the puck is never getting put on net. His hands mangle any chance at possession. |

Sure but he can be a body to bang in on a dump in too...he is good at that. The dump with Kunitz flying in to retrieve could be effective |

He's toast. He's playing too many minutes....especially on that brutal road trip. He's not winning any races to the puck. I know we're shorthanded at the moment, but give Sheery or Guentzal a well deserved chance. |

They are getting arguably the best chances in the league. They both play with Crosby every night....underwhelmingly from my perspective...at least sheary...guentzal has been ok. |

Pens mailing this in tonight in both ends of the ice. Philly looks much more urgent all over the ice. |

Streit had a guy wide open in the slot. Instead tosses it at the goalie for an easy save. Fixed |

Yeah, I think it's too much of the same style. Too much passing back and forth looking for the perfect play. Somebody needs to go to the net and create havoc. |

I've said it a million times: Hornqvist is a specialist and isn't that great at 5v5. He's great on the boards and elite in front of the net, but is very much a 7th round talent at everything else, causing a lot of plays to die on his stick. I like him more on the third line than on the top line and I'm glad Guentzel is making that possible. With the right center, a third line of the dueling Sweeds could cause havoc for the opposition. I really wanna see if Hagelin-Bonino-Hornqvist clicks at all once Hagelin gets back.
So yeah I wouldn't trade Hornqvist. He's a machine in front of the net on the PP and can slot up to add energy if a particular line stops clicking. Unless we trade him in a package for a great player, he's worth more on the team for that last year than anything he'll bring back in a trade.
What Aston-Reese can do, though, is if he makes it onto the team at some point next year and plays well, he can make management decide to let Hormqvist walk with ought a second thought, and that would be really good for us. - Victoro311
If that is your opinion of hornqvist and I'm somewhat similar then I think he is trade bait. A lot of teams seem to highly value his skillset. If a team like say colorado would do Maata + Horn for one of Barrie, Duchene, landeskog I'd be very interested at this point. That is if horn has fallen out of the top 6. Would save some cap; though I think with an expansion team entering play this year its going be a bad year to try and sign free agents with their extra 60-70 million in spending entering the mkt.

Probably the slowest looking Pens team I've seen in years tonight. Flyers look like they want it so much more.
Pens are a great 3rd period team though... Lots of hockey left yet... |

I'm sure they r tired from the road trip etc. But one good period and they win this game 3 to 2. Sadly I've seen little to no effort from anyone beyond sid and Murray. |
