I was a fan of his, too. I watched him at Prospect Camp once and he looked really, REALLY good. Had good numbers at St. Cloud State, and got his chances, just could never finish at the NHL level. |

Are you a "hard-working, 200 foot player?" Do you play a "safe" style? - jmatchett383
i'm willing to write NO ONE IS ABOVE THE TEAM, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE over and over again bart simpson style. |

Welcome aboard, you're our new top line winger.
What a (frank)ed up sign that is. |

So does hornqvist become trade bait? I feel like he's been officially pushed out of the top 6 with how the sid-sheary-guentzel line has been as well as how good geno and Kessel have been together. |

Horny on the 3rd line, and no. 1 PP.. why trade that? I wouldn't want to get rid of that. I see no reason to trade 40-50 points per season. |

I've said it a million times: Hornqvist is a specialist and isn't that great at 5v5. He's great on the boards and elite in front of the net, but is very much a 7th round talent at everything else, causing a lot of plays to die on his stick. I like him more on the third line than on the top line and I'm glad Guentzel is making that possible. With the right center, a third line of the dueling Sweeds could cause havoc for the opposition. I really wanna see if Hagelin-Bonino-Hornqvist clicks at all once Hagelin gets back.
So yeah I wouldn't trade Hornqvist. He's a machine in front of the net on the PP and can slot up to add energy if a particular line stops clicking. Unless we trade him in a package for a great player, he's worth more on the team for that last year than anything he'll bring back in a trade.
What Aston-Reese can do, though, is if he makes it onto the team at some point next year and plays well, he can make management decide to let Hormqvist walk with ought a second thought, and that would be really good for us. |

Yeah I agree with this for sure. But I don't necessarily agree that he is a 7th round talent everywhere else. His hands might not be the best, but per corisca, every line he's been on (except Hags-Geno-Hornqvist) have had a even or positive goal differential. I am not sure replacing Geno with Bones makes that line work, even as a 3rd line in the playoffs. Personally I think Scott Wilson has better hands that Hags. I would like to see....
Sheary-Sid-Guentzal
Hags-Malkin-Kessel
Wilson-Bones-Horny
Kunitz-Cullen-Kuhn
I think. I dunno. Top 6 for sure those combos. Bottom 6.. maybe flip Wilson and Kunitz. But either way I'm cool. |

I like the Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel line a lot so I can get behind that.
Ima have to replace Kuhnhackl with Rust though.

I'm starting to wonder if they should drop Phil down with Bones for a while. He seems so reluctant to shoot lately.

Agreed. His passing seemed really "off" the last few games too. With Bones resembling the player from the playoffs, maybe Phil regains that shoot first mentality. |

Just curious does this first line even generate as much offense as the sheary crosby horn line? |

I picked Kuntiz, because no chance he scores lol So hopefully if he does, I have better odds. I was going to pick Dumo, but he has better scoring chances lately |

I almost always pick Cole or whoever is the rotating 4th line winger. But I had to go Sid on this one. I'll personally pay to move everyone I love (not many people) to Pittsburgh if I win. haha |

Doesn't end...I'd like to sid a little more selfish. He forces a few too many to sheary and it goes no where. Also getting tired of the first pp unit. The worst shift of the whole period was those 5 guys on the ice ON THE PP. |

Boo to that whole period. Nice to see Cullen back. He seems rested. Might not be a bad idea to give him some more time off towards the end. |
