No, he is. He is awesome. Never done anything wrong. He isn't 19 years old and has no room to grow. He deserves the Calder. Maybe even 2 Calders.

Laine

Laine has gone pointless in a 4 game stretch 3 times this season.

It's gunna happen. In fact. It's unavoidable to go through an few slumps in a season.

It isn't even the points Santos. It is that I watch, and he looks invisible.

What I try to tell myself is that he is concentrating on becoming a complete, 2-way, NHL center and that sometimes offense is going to suffer because of that... and, of course, he is a rookie.

Then I watch Marner, and I don't see the same diappearing act, and Marner is carrying two boat-anchors on his line. Did you see those guys when Marner was injured

Partly yeah.

But seriously, I hate the fact that people in Toronto have suddenly become immune to any sort of negative reality.

Here is another one... Korshkov was a (frank)ing HORRIBLE draft pick that no other team would have made and every single person in this thread should have done better.

- Aetherial

Maybe. That's cherry picking, though.

As a collective fan base we finally have the foundation of a team we can not only cheer for but be proud of. I think most people just want to enjoy that and want to end the negativity for a while. If Matthews has these streaks for his whole career then you can call him streaky. It's been one season, and the rookies you mentioned earlier have all had some point droughts. Enjoy the moment. It won't kill you.

I've seen Winnipeg games where Laine ight as well have been in the press box. Same with Crosby and Ovechkin.

When Laine isn't scoring he looks useless. He's much less involved in the play than Matthews is, partly due to being a winger I admit.

Again, I wish it was cherry-picking, but there is a HUGE pile of poop in our prospect list. It doesn't help that our best young guys are already on the Leafs, but I hope no one is counting on Korshkov, Kapanen, Dermott, Bracco et al, ad continuing a steady stream of talent.

That blog MiB did this week was really depressing.

He's playing compete 200ft game, he's creating chances out of nothing, making his linemates better.

He hasn't been invisible in the least.
