Are you saying worse then the Avs this season?
- Nuck4U

I have no idea. I would put money that they don't make the playoffs though in their first 3 years.

Vegas is going to be a dog poop team

Really hard to say where they will be without knowing the protected list, but I would guess they fall in the 20-25 range. The bad teams right now are real bad

That would be consistent for where they will be in the running of other bottom struggling teams trying to be bubble hopefuls.

I think they will by year 3. They could potentially assemble a good young D core and take several decent prospects from the AHL

I remember it took the Thrashers 5 or 6 years to make the playoffs after they held their expansion draft and came into the league. Wouldn't be surprised if they take a few years to actually be decent.

If "change-ups" actually work, Vegas will never win a home game. They'll be facing entire rosters coming off benders.

Interesting point that they brought up during last nights game, who is the Canuck MVP for this season? Miller or Horvat?

Yeah Carol had that in her blog today. I hate to say it but Oilers are biggest competition. Like last season lost Cagguila and before that Shultz to them.

Maybe now these players can see that Nucks are going to be an up and coming young team. That they will have more spots open for young guys. Where Oilers and others will be signing and giving time to vets.

The question mark is WD. If he stays and will he open it up for the youth?

I don't really have a distinct favorite between the two, but to be fair we've been in A LOT of games we shouldn't have been simply because of Miller.

how are any of you making judgement calls on a team that doesn't even have a roster yet?

Yeah but the Thrashers/Predators, then Wild/Jackets had to compete with 2 teams in a draft with more protection rules.

Each franchise was allowed to protect either one goaltender, five defensemen, and nine forwards or two goaltenders, three defensemen, and seven forwards.

Bettman has learned from ATL that the new team needs to be competitive quickly, thats why I think Vegas will be much better than those other teams were in their first 5-7 years

Drake was a beneficiary of playing with great line mates in Boeser and Schmaltz.
He hasn't done poop in EDM.

It's got to be Rodin. He saved WD's job.
