OK Einstein, you want to drop the gloves, let's go:

A) I didn't say anything about "that particular statement." I said "A lot of what you say." From you, the response to this shortcoming would be something witty like "Reading Comprehension."

B) A lot of what you write in this post is pure bullpoop, which is to say generalities (derived from your own limited experience) that are at the same time both over-inclusive and under-inclusive, which you tie in some loose causal relationship to wider societal tendencies.

C) Leaving aside all the rest of the pure bullpoop in your post - I'll take one example. Anybody with a modicum of understanding regarding the challenges faced by US factories right now understands that competition for factory work doesn't come from college educated US citizens displacing the more traditional "unskilled" force. It comes instead from the globalization of commerce, and the rapid advance of technology displacing all human workers.

D) So, in this post, as in "a lot of what you say" you made it about a third of the way before - as in "a lot of what you say" - your mistaken belief that "hey I'm a pretty smart guy" got in the way of a meaningful contribution to the thread. And that is "talking out your ass."

So (frank) off DOUCHE. All that "talking out your ass" is cluttering up the thread, giving everybody else a pain in the ass, and just getting in the way of our good time talking hockey. So (frank) off. Please.

I'm glad the Sabres are out west right now. I can watch the NCAA Tournament without feeling compelled to turn the channel, though I am going tomorrow night.
- buffalofan19

I have not watched the sabres since the flyer game

won't watch another period this season, unless the bolt game means something for the bolts (my second favorite team)

Hey man, not that you care about my opinion, but you and I have differing opinions from what I can tell, yet we can usually keep it clean and constructive when we engage each other. That's all it takes. There's several people on here with the capability.

And the Sabres (frank)ing suck right now. No one should be happy or complacent but what the hell else is there to talk about at this point in the season? The coach is a moron and he's trying to ruin our best player and only 2 guys have lived up to what we expected. And one of them people were ready to run out of town because some stupid skeezer didn't like that he hit it and quit it.

Does anything u say make sense?

Do you disagree that Jack needs to work on his defensive game?
Same with the turnovers
Now is the perfect time for Bylsma to be tough on him
We aren't making the playoffs anyways

I never got what the big deal was about Bylsma being tough on Eichel. He's still producing at a great clip offensively, so it doesn't seem to be hurting him that much. It would be one thing if this team was winning games, but they aren't, largely because this team is a mess defensively. And Eichel certainly isn't improving the team in that regard.

I do go back to Pittsburgh in 2009 where a young Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin pushed Michel Therrien out (ironically for Dan Bylsma) and ended up winning a cup. But even then, that team had been to the conference finals the year before. They had won games, big games before. Nobody on this team has anywhere near that kind of pedigree with the exception of Brian Gionta.

Ennis or Moulson for Jay-Bo ?
- SABRES 89

Sure!
But why would StL do that?
Has it actually been discussed?

Tough to imagine they'd be ok losing J-bo & Shatty in the same offseason
Unless they've got a plan to bring someone else in

Is his production going to get any better? With this supporting cast, I think not. It's a riveting story, but doesn't really seem to have an effect one way or the other.

I think it's a good message to send to the team
U can't bench EVERYONE

So let them know...
if Eichel can get benched for screwing up,
U better get your sh!t together too!

Defense has been our problem all year...
and it hasn't been nice at the DEFENSEMEN
Many forwards need to be better in our own end

Why not focus on that in this last stretch of games?
Makes sense to me

You don't bench a 20-year old, second year player in a season where the playoffs are now completely out of the question.

I know this is a crazy concept, but you COACH him and let him play 20+ minutes a night at his rightful position, 1st line center.

I'm not a fan of this tough-love, bench a player because he's the least sucky player we have. It's old-fashioned mentality coaching and it needs to die.

Jack's defensive game is not bad. He isn't a 2-way forward. You don't punish your best playmaker, who also happens to be your best sniper AND your best skater because a puck bounced off his foot and your goalie watched it fly between his legs.

I absolutely disagree with it. Look at what Lindy did to Afinogenov, then tell me that it's good to bench Offensive players because of turnovers and 'force' them to play a defensive style.

It'd be like breeding the best mule possible to compete in the Kentucky derby and then lashing the poor thing when it came in last.

But now that we're out of the playoffs realistically...
Jack learning to be more defensively responsible outweighs his production
We already know gen can score
But he needs work in other areas of his game

If I'm benching anyone on this team right now, it's Reinhart, who I would make sit up in the press box for a few games because he's floating constantly, and ROR for turning the puck over 700 times a game for the past 20 games.

Eichel was benched for a shift. I think this is way overstated. If he stapled his ass to the bench for an entire period, then I would have an issue.

I'm not even trying to say that it's justified. I just think it's really a non-issue. This team has much bigger problems than this.

when okposo went down, I would have moved reinhart to that slot for the rest of the year with ror

I think ror can teach him more than the press box

and another thing, why is this coach playing gionta with ror? we are out of it

play gionta with eichel if you must, to help jack grow
