Well, it seems you are set in your beliefs, so based on that I would say you won't believe so, no.
It is pure speculation on Terry having directed GMTM to hire Bylsma though. It is possible, but nothing put out there about it definitely being Terry's decision, not that I'm aware of anyway.
You may be right however.

What are you expecting the cost to fix the D to be?

- IonSabres

not that i was asked but to properly fix it probably cost 23 and someone(thing) else.

the defense is a fatal flaw right now. its being made worse by the coach. i dont believe that murray hired bylsma, should i believe he can fire him? murray tried fixing the d on the cheap, it has not worked. im expecting the d to be fixed and im expecting that most will not be happy with the cost.

Yeah we "have Jack". He's better than any single player the Blue Jackets or Rangers have, yet they are 20-25 points higher than us in the standings. And don't think they'd trade with us to have Jack Eichel.

If Darcy takes the 4 1st rounder's for Vanek, we don't have Jack.

How far back are we going to go to make it look like the incompetence of this organization is a good thing?

(not directed at you specifically)

I get what you are saying but it was at that moment we pivoted towards the tank. I think that is the difference. Had we waited another year things might have gone differently.

I think a mixture of 2017 1st, Nylander, and Kane would also get it done, but it would likely mean at least one of the parts coming back would be younger and not a fully known commodity like your man crush Hampus.

See this is where I totally disagree. The tank was in full effect under Darcy dating back to moving Gaustad and Pominville. He acquired a 1st in the 2015 draft in the Vanek deal, and had the framework of the Miller deal done that included the other 2015 1st.

He knew about Eichel and McDavid.

I find it hard to believe that Pegula hired Lafontaine without telling him of those plans.

This x10

a) no coach fixes this D, thats on the future GM

b) if you were an established NHL coach how much money would it take for you to want to coach this team? sure its got jack...its also got jack on its blue line.

- Sabresfan-365

This is all BS IMO, much like the Bills were never going to get a top Choice for HC when they fired Rex. There are only 30 jobs available in teh entire US, if you fired Bylsma today and had open HC interviews with NHL coaching experience, there would be a line out the door.

Devils advocate. If a worthwhile coach became available, a lot of teams would make room for him or that coach would wait for a better opportunity (see Julien)

im not even 23 would bring my man crush here.

The problem with that offer you mentioned isnt necessarily value its that what team is giving up that kind of d-men for 2...maybe 3 depending on the pick wingers? You dont really see that all too often.

Sure, but I don't know that Darcy would have put the petal to the metal like Murray did. Worse, LaFontaine could have completely screwed that up. That was probably the first sign of Pegula being a mediocre owner.

My bigger point with all of that is that even though we aren't in a great place now this could have been a whole lot worse.

We ended up last in '14 by 14 points. Darcy was fired while we were in 30th.

All Murray did was remain in last.

Why is it HIS job to invest $$$ in PUBLIC Schools, etc?
U don't know what you're talking about

And he donated MILLIONS so that CanalSide can be developed
He didn't see any profits from that
But how many ppl go to CanalSide each year?
Tens of thousands that NEVER went there before Pegula donated the $$$
What's that have to do "with his own interests?"

And for that matter...
Keeping the Bills & Sabres here & building the Harborcenter have kept & created jobs in Buffalo...
TRUE OR FALSE?
And it's spurred on other development in them downtown area as well

Please...
tell me all about how development is bad?
He's not building on the Tift Nature Preserve

INFASTRUCTURE is not the job of private citizens
But development, brings in TAX DOLLARS that can be used for the types of projects you're talking about

Or maybe you'd just prefer all the wasted space with buildings in ruins?
Good grief

Darcy prepared everyone for suffering. I like to believe he had the foresight to position the Sabres to have the best chance to land McDavid and it started at the time the suffering speech was delivered. Kudos to him.

Any official word on Antipin, or is it a case of having to wait for KHL season to be over? We sure could use some good news.

I believe the problem was that he did apprise Lafontaine of the plans and Lafontaine turned against those plans as he didn't believe in bottoming out.
