gaborik's deal is on par in awfulness, but worse when you see the player that shows up every night. brown still skates hard, finishes checks, has potted a few more goals, and his speed isn't the problem it is with others on the team.

gaborik...for every goal he's scored, he's halfassed something to allow one as well. buyout candidate or something for sure...

I need to go back and watch one of Gaborik's games from his prime, alongside Demitra. Hard to remember that he was a fairly dominant player at one point.

One playoff win in three years after they miss the dance again this year despite havjng:
The Norris Trophy Winner
The Selke Trophy Winner
A Team Canada Center
A second Team Canada D man
All world goalie and starter for Team USA
Two young guns: Toffoli and Pearson
A top winger for Team Europe

It all speaks for itself.

Kopitar has had an awful season - 9 goals, 31 assists, -9 +/- for $14M salary ($10M cap hit)

They are odds. They are not meant to tell you what will definitely happen.

This is so dumb. His projections have a team 7 points back of Toronto with 15 games left finishing 4 points ahead.

Now it's a debate what team has a better chance of getting in the playoffs and one is solidly in the hunt while one needs to play better hockey than they have all season while simultaneously needing a good team to play their worst hockey of the season then maybe it's possible?

I think he is spending too much time reading Breitbart and has lost all sense of reality.

Agreed. If you can't get understand the difference between the probability of getting in vs. for sure getting in, then there is no point to ever use the % sign in your day to day life.

This illustrates Jeff Blashill's 'process' perfectly. Well done.

Look at the rosters anyway. Detroit played well above expectations with the talent they have while the Kings played well below.

Maybe I'll take Blashill.

- verwustung

No. I had Detroit missing the playoffs before the season started. But I didn't have them as playing like monkeys humping footballs either. Then again maybe I did.

too bad that top winger for team europe has barely showed up this season, injury aside. but whole team has been underwhelming for sure not just 12.
