Says Ron Hextall, and I'll provide the evidence that Hextall chose to re-sign Bellemare to a 2 year contract. What evidence can you offer that probably most NHL scouts beg to differ? I'll also add that Bill Meltzer posted the other day, that 3 other NHL teams were interested in acquiring Bellemare.

Bellemare averages .14 points per game in his career, 47% faceoff guy, and not effective on the power play. Anyone defending overpaying a player like this is simply a blind loyalist.

Guess what 4th line matters
Chicago would still have 3 cups, in 7 years using VdV, and Belly on 4th line.

Yup, my bad...just adjusted my OP.

Hex has done a good job drafting but the twinkle of that is starting to fade.

Nobody is against patience (think everyone wants that) but a lot of his other moves along with this blind loyalty to a poopty HC is concerning.
