Where does Vegas pick in the draft? Are they automatically a top three pick? Picking 31st? If they're picking say 3rd overall I wonder if we could package a guy and 10th overall for it. Might be smart for them to move back and get an extra piece.

Just to clarify my point, I was saying that a healthy Boyd Gordon for a full season could have catapulted us to being the best face-off team in the league. We're sooooo close. That's a goal to strive for. I'd consider bringing him back for a year.

They get 3rd overall odds which guarantees them at least the 6th. They pick 3rd in the other rounds

Colorado, Arizona, Vegas (ofc), NJ, Detroit, Dallas, Vancouver all are basically not happening. So, that's already pick 8. Which leaves Winnipeg, Buffalo, Carolina, Florida as remote possibilities. And we still need to watch out for teams above us like LA. Florida is the most obvious one we could reverse-leap, and we're about to in an hour. I just struggle to see us falling behind the others. If the Canes win tonight, maybe. They're a team that could erupt for a good stretch whenever.

So realistic best case is probably 10-11. Which is fine by me. The way I'm looking at this draft, it could put us in position to maybe (strong maybe b/c this is a draft without real consensus) guarantee one of my favorites. And trade ups always get easier the higher up you are should it come up. Really it's more 14/15 where I see a legit drop, and we'll fall short of that anyway.

I just simmed the lottery 3 times and the Flyers got the 11th, 12th, and 2nd overall pick! 11th has 10% odds, 10th has 14% and 9th has 17% odds (at winning a lottery pick). It is a nice reward for doing pretty much exactly what they've been doing for the last couple months

Patrick, Hischier. Obviously going top 2. Then I have to imagine these guys surely go within the top 10 somewhere, maybe battling for top 5 even: Tippett, Vilardi, Mittelstadt, Heiskanen. Then these guys could all battle each other and those guys before them too: Makar, Glass, Pettersson, Liljegrin, Rasmussen, Tolvanen, Necas, Andersson. It's not crazy to see any of them get a top 10 spot, though I think some more likely than others. This draft could see some unpredictability for sure! There's a few in here I don't actually like that much (Tippett and Rasmussen mostly....I'll ignore d men too for the obvious), so it's not an endorsement listing them per se.

One of Pettersson, Necas, Glass are my favorites with maybe a reasonable chance to have one be there at 10-11. Should none be there? I do like Andersson and Tolvanen, and if we hang around where we are that might be worst case scenario, which isn't really worst case. I'd list Kailer Yamamoto, because I would take him up there, but he won't go up there so it's moot.
