When you do the same setup over and over and over and over and over and over on the PP with no success it is a good idea to keep doing it over and over and over and over and over and over till you make it to the bottom of the league.

Because Moore is 36 and doesn't play any special teams.

If PEB wasn't saddled with CV, he'd have at least what Moore has production-wise and would be part of a competent PK.

So true. I will admit he is not the only player that sucks at PK. However, his roster spot is the easiest to adjust. I do not want to see him play ahead of players that will be here next year. IE Cousins, Lyubimov, any AHL player.

I also understand sitting him will not fix all of this team's issues. Save the keystrokes.

He did score a nice goal in WC...oh shoots that doesn't count.

I'm all for improving the roster and I like what I've seen from Lyubimov but I'm not sure the Flyers are sold on him being an NHL player. So they could let him walk.

I'm not sure who out there really can help next year up front. I'm hoping they add Lindbolm and that can bump someone like Raffl down the roster a little.

When VDV was not even good enough to make the Oilers cellar dwellers and we picked him up where would/could he have ended up? Germany-SHL-Russia or the league leading pee wee team>?

This roster can't play an up tempo game that I've seen out of UND when Hakstol was there. Maybe in another year or two the skill will be around but the past two seasons it's just treading water to get out of Homer's cap fun. This summer is Hextall's chance to make a leap if he allows two of Morin, Sanheim, and Hagg to break into the D core instead of MDZ and Schultz and then also allows Lindbolm to stick around.

Every player matters in this league. To absolve poor lineup decisions or the refusal to find or play better players is dumb.

On a rebuilding club to lock in guys like VDV without giving the kids more of a look is foolish. It's about the principle, not the player.

I would love the 4th line to be Raffl-PEB-Read. That would mean the 4th line is competent, CV is no longer on the team and that the first three lines have real talent on them.

Expensive for one year but would mean the team is probably a playoff team.

The fact Hextall values Bellemare enough to:

A. Re-sign him
B. Give him a raise
C. Make him an alternate captain

This is pretty alarming to me. There are bigger issues for sure not arguing that. But Hextall isn't responsible for MacDonald, or Giroux's contract. He didn't make those transactions.

It is like people are ignoring the fact that both goalies, primarily Neuvy, gave up some weak goals on the PP.

Is that the fault of the PK or crappy goaltending?

All that being said...we 100% cant go into next season with both VdV and PEB on the team. I am okay with PEB but we dont need both of them. Understatement of the year.
