the right way to build the bottom 6. Beats overpaying guys in FA and becoming cap strapped

If we win that lottery though

So that UB game on Thursday night was utterly unwatchable.

It is, but you have to keep finding those guys, because once they're up for longer deals, you need to let them go in order to keep yourself in a manageable cap situation.

Hopefully guys like Asplund and Pu are the real deal...there's 2 in addition to the likes of Carrier and Fashing.

I think the bigger issue for the Sabres is how to get the deadweight out of the lineup...
Moulson (hasn't been terrible this year, but the contract cost is crazy)
Gorges
Ennis
Bogo

That is a boatload of money tied up in wasteland.

Maybe early, but hopefully both those guys end up being top 6 caliber.

I really, really wish I could get paid that much for simply "wanting to be here".

Is there any evidence that he actually wanted to be here?

if he took a pay and year cut sure but we definitely gave him the best offer by like a mile so....

Ya, I don't know the impact on the cap if he were to retire, but if it was favorable to the Sabres, GMTM needs to have a heart to heart with him...tell him that next year he is getting waived and Terry is buying old school buses as transportation for the Amerks, lol.

And they need to lace Bogo's crack with rat poisoning.

Best thing Eichel ever did for the Sabres was fetch them E-Rod.

Just looked at the O of T scoreboard. Big night tonight. Let's go Canes, Nucks and Devils! Within striking distance of 26th place!

E-Rod definitely is the surprise of the year. Never expected him to make such an impact .

coin toss between him and nilsson

when the dust settles our backup will probably have better numbers than our start in net, again

I think it really shows us how poor the quality is in Rochester, the guy just needed to play with better players. I think Karabacek will make a jump in the AHL soon, too. He'll at least surpass Cornel as being the worse of the two.

Yes. Injuries slowed him down and I didn't think he'd recover but he seems to be back on track. At the very least I think he's got a shot if his AHL development doesn't take too long

I also heard real good things about Brandon Hagel 7th round 2016, and I still wouldn't count out Judd Peterson 7th round 2012.

I just noticed with the trade of Catenacchi, the entire 2011 draft class is officially retired for us.
