this is just stupid. why would he admit it to the press? sid's a whiner, but he's also well known as a class act. he wouldn't out bylsma in public. keep trying.

According to Michael Lombardi of The Ringer, the Bears and Bills are "all over" free agent RT Rick Wagner.
The Bears have been in on Wagner from the start but this is the first time we've seen the Bills linked to him. Wagner won't come cheap, but he'd be a massive upgrade for Buffalo at right tackle. Jordan Mills was one of the worst tackles in football last season, earning PFF's No. 68 grade out of 76 qualifiers. Wagner is expected to command $8 million annually.

he looked very disinterested in a fight that was going on right in front of him. you don't suppose one can infer that he's disinterested in several other aspects of the team as well? whatever, taco man.
- Khmylev

I'd be disinterested If I played on that team. It's a tire fire. Gio will be done soon enough. Hopefully 2/3 of the roster with him. I just don't see it was being worth getting riled up about at this point.

All I did was post the article to show that maybe, just maybe, there's a correlation between the Pens stars and ours. Take five.

Infer away. But assuming so much based on Gionta not watching our most useless player (arguably) fight is still not a good reason to strip him of his captaincy.
- TheSabresTaco

there's a bigger body of work to reference. the fight was just another thing.

So one of the worst RTs is going to command 8 million. I wonder what the RT depth looks like for round 3.

yeah, leadership on a team where most of the talent is under 25 is overrated.

Mills was so bad anyone would be an upgrade LOL

When it comes to the Bills I agree with Pach.

Get better talent everywhere and draft a QB in every draft...Stick with Tyrod if people think his contract is too much did you see what Glennon is expected to get? $14 million per year?

For Mike Glennon???

Yeah, I don't believe all the Kane trade landed Eichel, and it didn't become a theory until recently
- sbroads24

That's not true at all
Ppl were saying that we could make that type of trade bc we were tanking

"The conventional wisdom is if Cheveldayoff could have waited until the summer, he could have made his best deal because more teams would be involved. Contending teams couldn't afford to give up assets for a player who can't help them now.
But that wasn't an issue for the rebuilding Sabres, who have an NHL-low 35 points. Fans are counting on them drafting Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel, considered generational prospects."
https://www.google.com/am...today.com/story/23230071/

"Loser: Other Teams in the Connor McDavid Race
With Evander Kane done for the year, what the Sabres just did in terms of immediate NHL players was deal Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers for Zach Bogosian. The Bogosian/Myers side of the exchange is a tough one to characterize because they're both big, right-shooting defencemen who were taken early in the 2008 draft, but they're reasonably comparable in a lot of ways.
That means the Sabres are down one of their better forwards with no replacement in sight, which makes them worse for the immediate future."
https://www.google.com/am...for-evander-kane.amp.html

WE shipped out Stafford & Myers, who both played very well for Winnipeg if memory serves... having them > Bogosian
So yeah, it's reasonable to assume we'd have gotten 2-3 more points
And not finished last

This is so silly.

He didn't make the Kane trade to get Eichel. Just stop it already. He made it because he had to have Evander Kane.

Stafford was a UFA. Trading him for a 2nd or 3rd would have been the exact same thing. We'd be down a forward and would have had Myers instead of Bogo and STILL ended 30th.

He made the trade for Kane because he wanted Kane. He made the trade for Kane WHEN he made the trade because it also helped secure one of McEichel.

Just because you say otherwise when people at the time on here when the trade was made also said it would help get one of McDavid or Eichel. Just because it doesn't fit your narrative doesn't mean it's not true.

This is true. GMTM absolutely made this trade because he wanted Kane. Stafford was not a stud by any means and Meyers showed us he was playing at the top of his game as a rookie and there was not much upside.

More likely he did it then because he'd have no other competition(who would want an injured player?)
