You probably don't remember him but the Sabres need a couple of Bill Hajt type defensmen......
- rapperray

I thought Josh Gorges was our version of Bill Hajt....

This is why I'm still really mad about the Pysyk/Kulikov trade.

Not saying Pysyk is perfect but he has a great outlet pass. I would have to think that after watching this team all season that having a guy that could do that would have been helpful.

it was a swing and a miss to bring in a different kind of player. they're both depth defensemen. So be it.

bills had a great day

got a decent fb

got a short yardage back who is a great 3rd down blocker for pass protection (and worked with our new coach)

got a back up guard/tackle that can fill in if needed

got taylors cap hit down to 10 mil, and a 5 mil buyout if he regresses

still have money to get a db or 2
a wr or 2
dabble at bennet

what I have been hearing and reading
there are a lot of really good secondary help in the draft and te's in the draft

let's grab one or 2 wr's today

Speaking of TE:

As Packers TE Jared Cook approaches the start of free agency, the Lions and Bills are showing the most interest, sources say.

Possibly but with half the talent of Hajt... Hajt was known to be the best Stay AT Home Dman in the league in his day..

The problem for me in that scenario is that, IMO, Bogosian is the same type of defenseman as Kulikov. Both are good skaters, both play physical, and both can chip in offensively. However, both also have oatmeal for brains which ends up being front and center more often than the good things they bring to the table.

He's a strange player. Like, he's good, then he's not good. I look forward to him being torched. I wonder who we sign on for receivers. Kendall Wright could be cool and inexpensive.
- TheSabresTaco

He was either completely dialed in or completely tuned out.

When he was on he was really on.

But I am seeing he is signing for north of $14 million per year.

For that kind of money he needed to be a full 16 game dialed in player and he wasn't that.

We'll see how much Belichick and Patricia appreciate him throwing his hands up every time he is burned as if to say it is someone else's fault. Get that bum out of here.

Imagine what a healthy Watkins can do to him

I have trouble imagining a healthy Watkins.

For sure. Bills smart to move on from him and Goodwin. I haven't heard anything on Woods yet.

I have just as much trouble imagining a healthy Gilmore. He's another one that seems to have the injury bug that follows him around a lot.

Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet

The expected price tag for free agent CB Stephon Gilmore for the #Patriots is slated to eclipse $14M per year, I’m told. Hefty but worth it

He was the best Ray. It didn't matter if it was a 2-1 or 3-2 he would always break up the play.

He doesn't stink but he is pretty inconsistent especially to be paid top dollar like that. I would imagine the Pats and Belichek don't mix up their coverages as much as Rex did and confuse their DB's but still that's a lot of cash for a guy who only showed up 8 games a year.

I feel like whenever the game was on the line he would either allow a big catch or take a pass interference penalty.

The Pats do play a ton of Man to Man which Gilmore is pretty good at.

Watch he lights it up there. Oh well the Bills weren't paying him top dollar.

I don't know much about the system the Bills will be running this year but the Rex Ryan system left Gilmore high and dry very often and without safety help most of the time when there should be.

Why not get a RT when that's what we need but instead, sign another TE.

No he didnt. That play was on Meeks at Safety.

Gilmore is a very good CB. Bellicheck was a DB coach. i think he knows a little something about them.

What games do you watch? Gilmore is terrible in man. Loses track of the ball and his surroundings. His best year was in Schwartz's system and was a zone coverage defense.

Owner Terry Pegula says the Bills' front office finds it "comical" that people think team is dysfunctional. He says it's something he and the front office laugh about it.

That's what it is Terry, comical. Both of your loser teams...........comical.
