He kind of is a "Murray" guy though
Murray is the one that signed Ennis to the deal he's currently playing on
It was one of the first things he did that offseason

Also,
If Ennis is more "tradable" then say Moulson, etc...
that's a reason to protect him
So that he can get some value back

I know Carrier has looked ok up here,
But with Bailey, Nylander, Baptiste & Fasching all ready soon, plus it looks like Rodrigues possibly as well...
Murray might not see a spot in the future lineup for Carrier & exposes him

- jdfitz77

I say hes more tradeable than the others purely because of the price. Bogo and moulson are owed basically what their cap hit is making them almost untradeable. If vegas takes ennis then hallelujah but if they dont we mite be able to find a suitor in a trade because of what i said above unlike moulson and bogo. I think they leave all those guys available and hope vegas takes stink stank or stunk. Id be open to trying trade/lose other guys to force vegas' hand in that. Also i wouldnt mind keeping bogo for the role he should be in rather than what were doing with him now. He likes to punch people and i like watching him punch them, at least i can get my monies worth with him on that front.

I think it's probably wishful thinking that we get them to take on any of our bad contracts
If it happens... great
But they could just choose Ullmark (or whoever) instead & send him to their AHL team
They must take 30 players,
Which means they are gonna choose at least 7 guys they can send down

Also... they have to stay under the Salary Cap
And that will actually be kind of hard bc they'll have those extra 7 guys counting towards the Cap

I'm REALLY hoping the NHL changes its mind & releases the unprotected list from each team
This is all super interesting to me to se what each team will do

Yeah...
I agree we are in a good spot to take advantage of a team
Hopefully we can pull off a good trade or 2 that helps us

- jdfitz77

It would seem as though we are in a "good spot" to take advantage of other teams but are we really? Thats the 64 dollar question, hence my bringing it up. Everyone wants to think we can just pry a dman away from one of these teams but that means they will be losing two guys rather than one assuming they dont just make a deal with vegas before we get a shot taking the cards right out of our hand anyways. I just dont know how good of a spot that puts us in in all reality. I hope we are but im trying to be realistic... The future just seems kind of bleek at this point and i just dont see as much light at the end of the tunnel as some others. We need these young guys to be a little less swedish and a have a little more finnish for this whole thing to take shape as i would like it to.

True...
but they'll also be getting something back from us
Check out the example I laid out on the last page about NyR

It's basically the same thing for the Ducks & Minny & every other team that's in a tough spot

Also, you have to consider that while Vegas might make SOME deals...
they won't make a deal with ALL the teams that are in a rough spot

So yeah...
since we are one of the few teams in good shape,
I'm pretty hopeful that GMTM can pull something off

I couldnt agree more. All im doing at this point is being optimistic. I dont think they take any of our higher dollar contracts thats why i think ennis cold be the most tradeable of all. Crazy to think we actualy want them to take a player we have on the books for 4-5.5m, these are they guys one would think need to be protected and were hoping like hell they are dumb enough to rid us of them.. Dont see it happening either, exactly why im speculating on the ennis trade from the get go. I am super interested in how this will all pan out. Can murray offer something to vegas to have them not make a deal with anaheim or minny or whoever so we can get a dman from them or is that somehow collusion? The rules dont prevent it exactly but that doesnt mean it can happen either.

Well put.
And we only need one team to bite, not all of them... Heres to it.
I still like valimaki a lot if we can snatch him up in that 6-10 range in the draft id be a happy camper. he seems like the real deal, and just the kind of fast skating, play making, rush joining dman we want/NEED. Start driving the play from the backend forward.

Every team has contracts they'd like to get rid of though
And with Ennis...
he's still young & has scored over 20g a few times
If he can just stay healthy the rest of this year & put a few in the net,
There will be some teams interested
Idk if we'd get much of a return though

Yeah, that does look like where we'll pick unless we get lucky & move up
We can get a pretty decent guy in that spot
Or I'm totally ok trading that pick as well

Quiet around here. still 90k without power and Nat grid says no estimate on full restore because of all the damage.

Agreed, though he seems to have come back to the pack as far as spoed is concerned and that is definitely a part of why i think he needs to go asap. Put him with eichel and either he gets it together and helps his stock for us in terms of a trade or bombs and helps us in terms of the draft... Either way im happy. As much as i want to get rid of a couple pieces of dead weight i want something back in return just as a matter of business.

Idk about that...
I think he should start next year in Rochester,
But I bet he sees some time up here
He should be ready by the following season
I see his development similar to his brother
Both similar players

I do find it odd that he's been playing RW...
Seems like we have more of a need at LW,
and I'm pretty sure he played the left side in Juniors
I guess it doesn't hurt to be able to play both though

- jdfitz77

He shoots right. Not all that odd, I thought he was a RW when we drafted him.

What is this? Old ECW footage? More impressive than the raw power displayed hurling that table across the room was her catching that steel chair out of mid air with one hand.
- Larsson_fan

You almost miss it with everything else going on in the video. Holy poop! I think that's even more impressive than throwing the table. What was it? A giant PCP party or something?

Dont know if it was just powerplay time, but a lot of the film i saw on him leading up to the draft he was on the left side picking corners. A lot of guys play on the off wing these days, not far fetched to think he has/was/could/should be playing there either.

Ennis can still skate
I think it's just indecision & lack of confidence bc he's ha having trouble picking up Bylsma's system
I'd actually be ok keeping him...
bc I still think he can be an effective player if he stays healthy
and if we did trade him, we'd be "selling low"

"At McDermott's direction, the Bills have removed a pool table and video games from their locker room. Both had been installed, along with a table tennis table, during a 2014 locker-room renovation and expansion while Doug Marrone was coach. The games remained when Rex Ryan replaced Marrone in 2015."

Where does he fit in on this roster though? He used to be dynamic and have a slickness to him. I dont know who i would want him with. Nowadays he just seems timid and slow. I see his feet moving fast but other guys catching up to/skating right by him.... Not that much of a difference between fast and not in this league, but its noticeable.

He's listed as a LW. This organization, generally, wants guys to play their strong side. It doesn't work with all players, just ask Ovechkin, but it's a lot easier to design plays when everyone is on their strong side.

I'm willing to give him one more year, but he has Tim Connolly written all over him.

Edit: Except Connolly was a lot more talented.

Idk if that's true
Regardless, most wingers can play either side
I just found it curious bc he was listed at LW before the draft,
and that's where we seem to to have a hole

You don't know if what's true? The fact that all the wingers on the team all play their strong side?

Edit: Third time's the charm, Ennis sometimes plays the right side.

Double Edit: And that goes double for defense. Unless there's an emergency, which has happened a few times this year, the defensemen all play on their strong sides too.

You beat me to it, mite turn out to be a dejavu-esque situation. If thats the case, isnt selling "low" on him now better than the alternative? If murray gets a buyer, he should listen long and hard...imo

Like I said, I think a lot of that is in his head

He's played quite a bit on both wings...
so if he can get some confidence back,
I can see him somewhere in the top9 next year
Right now I think he's playing with O'Reilly & Okposo
I'm ok with that

I was talking more about drawing up plays,
But also the strong side thing

I know they feel that way about defense, but...
Ennis, Girgensons, Foligno & Moulson all have played both wings routinely
Even Okposo & Kane a little bit
Deslauriers as well, but he doesn't really count
Bailey has been working at LW most of the year bc we are heavy on the right side as well
