are you still going to deny that you hate Stepan or are you still claiming that you are rooting for him?
- jimbro83

100% rooting for him. I just don't know y we can't talk about our 6.5 million center that hasn't scored a goal in 21 games. Also, I didn't bring up Coyle ur buddy RD did.

Vesey and Nash stood out to me
A lot of the after the whistle scuffles seemed so fake and manufactured I was just shaking my head. They looked like baseball "fights" you know when the benches empty, and the pitchers come in from the bullpen and then they all get together in a crowd near the mound and chat... hahaha

- MiloslavHorava

Nash was most noticeable guy out there last night, w/ exception of both goalies.

I thought he was real close last night to breaking out, definitely more visable, that line was alternating zones on each shift, getting pinned then good on possession, you can tell it's weighing on him, his reaction to the puck that hopped over his stick showed it, the giveaway on the PP was almost a killer, he needs to find his game soon before the playoffs come and he's an easy target for a trade
- KreiderBomb

after the season, he's definitely going to be one of the number one topics for trade speculation, there is no doubt about that

cap space needs to come from somewhere and if they have a quick post season its a definite possibility

but, saying all that, do we really have to discuss the fact that this nutjob wanted him traded last summer for Charlie Coyle?

Coyle and Dumba, but that's irrelevant.

Y so angry? It's a legitimate hockey discussion. We have a guy making 6.5 million that has been a ghost for over 25% of the season. Almost 50% of the season if u include his terrible start where he went 11 games with 0 goals and 7 assists while we were averaging 4.5 goals a season

Does that mean they decided not to tweak it this season? I can understand that. But if that means they're leaving it be for the foreseeable future then that's asinine.
- eichiefs9

It's been the rule for 100 years now. There's not one guy playing that doesn't know he has to keep his blade on the ice and on the line. I don't see how this should be an issue. It's a black & white rule. Always has been. What I don't understand is how it can take up to 10 minutes to look it over. The league has a view from right along the line in HD!

Pretty sure there were numerous reports Minnesota was offering Dumba and a 1st, I said get a center back in the package. I don't really bring it up other ppl do and then I add to it bc it gets u going so easily.

when we've had discussions we agree for the most part. It's a legit discussion he could be gone in the offseason bc of the NTC kicking in. This isn't about his 21 game struggle, as you know I've been on board for trading him since last year and part of that is having zib and Hayes. The DSU gets so many ppl going it's hysterical, but a legit point IMO. Can u imagine if this was Nash? Kreider? Etc.

I was under the impression that LeBrun was referring not to the fact that they aren't changing the rules, but the rules for the review of offsides. I don't want to change the rule, I'd just like to see the 10 minute review abolished. Give it a 60 second time limit or banish it all together. It's terrible. If a guy was a fraction of a step over the blueline just let the god damn goal count.

Maybe I misunderstood the tweet.

I also think u got hysterical like this when I said we needed a few guys to bring some grit in the beginning of the season. Oooo look, what do you know, we need some grit in the lineup. But 4 months ago u were calling me the same thing ur calling me now.

I am really pissed the Rangers didn't try and trade Skej for Hedman in the summer. I mean I just don't understand why they wouldn't do it!!! TB needs to open up capspace and could use a cheap young defenseman. My god the Rangers are so so stupid for not making that trade happen.

Really random thought. Is it legal in the CBA to trade a player to a team with a draft pick and then have that player be traded right back but with 50% salary retained?

i.e. Trade Stepan to the Coyotes with a first round pick for player X. Then Coyotes trade us Stepan back for player X while retaining 50% of the salary?

Can't reacquire a player for a year after you make a retained salary trade, unless their contract expired, they signed a new one, and then were traded back to you.

No it came over the summer, when there were a ton of rumors Minnesota wanted Stepan. There were also a bunch of rumors they were offering Dumba and a 1st. I suggested instead of the 1st try and get Coyle. Over the summer that's what a bunch of the blogs were, rumors on what we should do and what we needed to improve the team. That's how it got started. But u tell urself what u want.

I don't really bring it up. It gets brought up by other ppl when I post Stepans stats and ppl get sarcastic about something I suggested over the summer and I run with it bc it gets ppl going so easily.
