is it the player, or coaching?

my big question with tyrod

Player. After 29 games the guy is what he is. A lot of tools but a ton of things that he can't do that a good quarterback should be able to do. His stats outside of garbage time are stunning.

There is no chance a guy like Manson or Montour are moved for Fasching.

We literally have 4 options to trade for a top 4 D man who's young

Reinhart
Kane
Nylander
17 first.

That's about it.

No one's taking our 5th or 6th best prospect for one.

- sbroads24

At some point, though, Anaheim is going to have to take what they can get. You can start the process with Fasching and move the negotiations from there.

They are in the position of losing a player for nothing, or gaining an asset in return. It all depends on the bidding war, if there is one.

This is entertaining.

Because I do not feel we should protect Ennis or Bogosian I have no idea how the Sabres are going to do this. We basically do not have enough players worth protecting or that need to be protected.

Should be interesting.

Let them choose between stink, stank and stunk. (also why i wish they traded ullmark, so that vegas had no options)

Also take in how the sign for no move clause or auto protect is a brick wall

Fasching isn't our 5th/6th best prospect
Ducks won't trade Montour, he doesn't need to be protected
(Unless they trade him Vegas so they don't pick someone else)

Anaheim isn't the only team we can try to get a defenseman from

So when I say Manson, I mean a player like him
& when I say Fasching, I mean a player like him with more potentially added

And in a normal trade market,
u may be correct that it would take Reinhart, etc...

But there's quite a few teams in a tough spot...
and we are one of the few teams who can take advantage

So unless Vegas is willing to make a bunch of deals with these teams,
We should be able to get a player or 2 at a discounted price...
Instead of what we'd normally have to trade for them

Something like that...

And hopefully replace Faulk with a defenseman we trade for
And maybe replace Carrier with a forward we trade for...
like Nash for example
NyR needs Cap space & would rather protect Hayes,
So he'd probably be pretty cheap

Maybe they can just protect Eichel and Reinhart anyway.

Nylander
Guhle
Pu
Bailey
Petersen

I'd put Fasching with Baptiste. He's on no ones radar besides Murray's

And the Ducks aren't the only team in this predicament
There's quite a few actually

And the Sabres are one of only a couple teams in a spot to take advantage

I have Fasching, Bailey & Baptiste all in the same level
And Pu below them
Actually, Guhle is probably on the same level as them,
But only bc he's a defenseman & had one great training camp

Regardless...
Fasching is a quality prospect imo
Being injured this season doesn't change that he's seen as a potential
top6 winger

Guhle's been great since the day we drafted him, its just that training camps really the only time anyone gets to see him.

I rank him right behind Nylander

Agreed, not sure what the rules on acquisitions are leading up to the expansion draft but its a good template of sorts.

That's fair...
but guys like Guhle & Pu are still in Juniors
Fasching, Bailey & Baptiste are all doing well as Pros

But regardless of how u want to rank them...
my point is that Fasching is a good prospect seen as a top6 winger
He's not junk
I think teams would value him
