Hopefully it's one of those they're making him earn it deals and not an indication that he'll never get that respect from the refs.

He's literally fouled consistently multiple times every game.

Imagine how good he would be in the former 'new NHL' yeats ago?

You mean the wide open style of play that Ed Snider and Jeremy Jacobs nixed in favor of the hook, hold, interfere game we have today?

seems to depend based on the ref crew. There have been quite a few instances where ive seen eichel "get away" with certain things that the average forward probably wouldnt.

Recently (roughly last 3 weeks or so) it looks like hes not getting as many.

Me too, mostly because we could use the compliance buyouts

I would be very interested in reading peoples considered thoughts on why this team loses so many 1 goal games.

Please don't just say "________ stinks."

I think if they would have won 1/2 of the games they lost by 1 goal they're like 3rd in the conference.

misleading. This team is not good 5 on 5. As for why they're losing all these by one? I refer you to the massive coach bus Disco Dan has parked in front of the high slot as a result of the fact that the majority of the D-core has neither the creativity nor IQ to do much of anything else.

If he allowed them to be active wed probably have the same record, our wins might be a bit bigger but our losses would definitely be bigger.

I mean i hate not being able to watch hockey but we were a bad team and it helped us get rid of 2 god awful contracts.

Cheers to the owners and Fehr for helping our franchise

I believe the average margin of victory in the NHL is under 2 goals

Good Question.
Not sure you could pin it one thing, and I believe we have all discussed it...
Defensively speaking:
D-men not good enough, too many with what appears to be a low hockey IQ
Forwards having D-zone lapses with their coverage responsibilities
Confusion with the System

Offensively speaking
Not enough finishers, snipers
Dump and chase system leads to low possession, fewer opportunities
Too much changing on the rush squanders more opportunities
D-men not jumping into the play, like we saw from the '05-'06 / '06-'07 teams
Not sure if this is the System design, or inability by the players...me thinks more related to the design of the System

That too, parity ensures every teams got a "chance". Convincing teams they're still in the hunt when they should know better.

Brought this up the other day. Bogo's is a longer hit, but the savings are bigger in the years you would project to be our "window"

I would seriously consider both and definitely do Moulson.

Both is excessive, the buyout hit would be counter productive. Youd end up paying closes to 5 mil a year for nothing which is what they're doing already
