Yes Giroux had a bad turnover and got walked lol but he did not play as bad as people are saying on here. I thought he had a good game overall, battled hard all night, scrummed it up a bit.

Always liked Filpula, poor man's Datsyuk (in a good way)

We have plenty of 3rd and 4th line type player to "scrum" it up and battle hard. We need more from Giroux. His post game quotes are correct. He was entirely at fault for the SH goal against.

He was good offensively, but he struggled in his own end so I can't give him a rating of fantastic.

If Ghost plays an A+++ game (for him), he'll be great on the offensive side of the puck and slightly above average defensively. He's always going to struggle on his in-zone play defensively. Much like Briere, his offense is going to have to make up for his defensive shortcomings. Last night, overall, I was more than happy with the trade-off.

If you take yesterday out of it, Filppula had 34 points in 59 games for Tampa this season, after scoring 31 in 76 last season. And yet we get this from Carchidi:

I mean...now you're quoting Carchidi...

Ghost definitely looks more confident at the moment.

Sad to see Filppula's decline into scoring a lot more points than he did last season continue last night.
- Feanor

It's terrible. I just see draft picks flushed down the toilet. I don't know what Hextall was thinking. He lacks the critical thinking ability of the fans!

Not after the Flyers grab the 3 seed and the Rags/Blue Jackets earn the 2 wild cards.

as long as all the players that have played like garbage all season start playing well, then yeah, it'll happen

Well, if the Flyers had a REAL goaltender, he would have made the save...

It's happening. Take it to the bank (preferably one that has been bailed out several times).

I don't agree with that. He is always going to have some issues with physical battles due to size that he can't control, but he has shown that he can play much better defensively in the past than he has for most of this season.

he also flushed away the opportunity to give a 30-something free agent forward 6 x 6.

Well, I don't think he'll ever be more than adequate on his in-zone D play, but we can disagree there, I'm fine with that.

The battled hard was more for the people claiming he had more of a "hustling" game , I mentioned that the turnover was bad. He's a playmaker and he set some things up on more than a few chances especially moving the puck back to the D 5 on 5 but with our group back there sometimes it doesn't always convert into a goal.

Problem is the "declining" tag is being used on Filppula by plenty more people than him.

And I don't think declining upwards is a thing.

I agree that's all he will be defensively, but he has not been that for most of the season. He played well offensively, and made plays with the puck, but he was still poor defensively.

They are literally on every team, Filpula was a good move for us. Cooter is clearly not a 2C and Val can be that guy this year and next year until we figure it out long term. I'm starting to think Couterier is just really bad. Stone hands and the only thing he has going is a good defensive stick.

I agree, bank transactions are putting a hole in the greenhouse gases or something.
