We better be talking a Subban, Weber, burnsie. I don't want another Bogo.

The question regarded a Top 2 defenseman.

If you could get a top 2 D-man for him straight up, would you do it?
- SabreWest

Depends who it is
A few days back, there were a few ppl on here saying Leddy was a 1 or 2
I wouldn't trade Kane for him
Would have to be an AllStar caliber defenseman for me to do it

I'm inching closer to wanting Kane here long term. I just can't see him taking a short team friendly deal if this keeps up, and I don't see them wanting to invest in him if it doesn't keep up.

I'm torn

- sbroads24

you just cant afford to be a victim of the "im playing for my contract" scenario. I think in the end he's dealt as part of a package for a d-man and is "replaced" by a forward we take in the first round.

I honestly believe the offence could survive in that scenario, especially since the improved defence directly translates into improved 5v5 play overall (helps offset the loss of kane).

Checked out the UFA list and I'm guessing there's no shot at Shattenkirk, that leaves you with Alzner, Brendan Smith, Seidenburgs had a nice year but they're going to need to make a trade

Sabres are 20-4-0 when Eichel has a multi point game

They need at least 2 more, so one of those could still suffice. They just can't sign one of them and say "yep, that's our guy".

Smith is an interesting one. Could work until Guhle is ready.

Don't forget to add Kulikov to that list.

Just think. If Bylsma wasn't the coach, he'd be a PPG player. Because Pittsburgh.

Our stars were stars today. Good.

Now do it against good teams

- sbroads24

Did you see the Doug Armstrong piece that illustrated why Chicago doesn't have to rebuild? He says it's because their stars are the best players on the ice EVERY night and they can simply re-tool everyone else around them.

I think this is where we have major issues. Our best players are hardly that every night.

Eichel is, or at least will be when fully healthy. I still think the ankle is bothering him a bit. Those injuries don't just go away without a lot of rest. I do think that this teams "2nd best player" still might need to be acquired.

Just to put the kibosh on how much the Sabres miss McNabb or how "good he is" from a senior writer who covers the Kings and writes for the The Fourth Period:

@DennisTFP How has Brayden McNabb played and is he anything more than a 3rd line D? Just curious from a Sabres fan who hears others miss him

@DennisTFP
Dennis Bernstein
3rd pair D. Far too inconsistent for the Kings liking and been given plenty of opportunity to emerge.

Did anyone catch that shot Reinhart took between his legs? He deserved the puck luck on the empty netter. 2 empty netters and a shorty in the same game. It's a sign. Turning Point #23 for lyfe!
