Yep, same old Carol blogging for the new era...

No Goldobin (or Hansen for the Sharks), but Cramarossa's in for the Canucks tonight, and Tanev & Baertschi are back.

conditioning has to be on the player. there may have been miscommunication as to weight but the player always knows if he has the "cardio" to compete at the level he should.

even if jake thought he had to be heavier, he still would have known that he couldn't sacrifice his conditioning for weight.

i think the off season will be more important than this season for him. i'd rather he wasn't called up for the rest of the season so he gets a fresh look at camp.

I have confidence Boeser will score at the NHL level, he has a variety of different skills which is good for making the step up. The other guy I think will be okay is Dahlen, he gets shots on net at a crazy rate and volume tends to lead to scoring.

Ovi & Bure type players shoot from anywhere & often.
He is no Bure but shots create havoc & chances to increase scoring.

I got to a point where I need to see it before getting too excited.

I'm a bit of a pessimist if you haven't noticed.

Reeling in expectations saves more disappointments.
Tell us your viewpoints in general if not pessimism.
I keep an open mind myself but see the depth & competition as the silver lining.

Agreed, he demonstrated all the necessary tools (shooting, strength, skating) but his conditioning was piss poor then, and remains so now. It's pretty sad when a player that age has the entire 'package' yet can't play a 30 second shift.

Is that on him or management?
I don't know...

Its pretty common IMO
Many Jr's r given aspects a team wants them to work on.
In Jr they cannot control development but in JV's case we had such an amount of turnover that he had very little chance of being sent back. What we all wonder is if he would have imoroved with another year in Jr but idk & would say no. He couldn't be sent to Utica so its best to look forward & let him work on his game properly.

Can anyone else see how greasy Victor de Bonis looks?
