Don't worry bro, we are signing Taveres the following season

- Whiskey-Tango

everyone knows that. jb pretty much confirmed it by trading for skilled wingers at the tdl. with tavares and bo, the team is set at centre.

yes... Ecstatic..

Look at the last trade deadlines. Look at the direction of the team. Not only did we get good returns, we finally got an answer to the question that management always ducked to answer. We are now actually rebuilding. When you sell off assets for prospects/picks, on a bad team, you are doing something that we have been asking them to do for 3 years. I don't think its unwarranted to say we are thrilled with what happened, not just who we got in return, but that the direction of the team is actually going and that is a place we (most) can all be happy with.

Yes, but a word like 'encouraging' might be more appropriate... since most of knew that these moves were the inevitable direction this team needed to take. Maybe?

Goblin can't play due to Visa issues. I suspect Crammroasssa is the same. They will play the following game.
- CanuckDon

He has played in SJ before, he should be fine for the american road trip, and by the time they swing back to Canada that should all be taken care of.

Doesn't seem to be many good UFA's this year. I would like to see a couple signed to 1 year deals and a rookie or 2 in the line up.

I'm hoping that JB thins out some D depth with some trades at the draft. Trading Hansen and Burrows got rid of a lot of leadership in the room.

If Van does get Patrick I'd be open to see Patrick Marleau signed for a year between 2-3

- manvanfan

if we are not expected to be in the playoffs, it might be hard to sign good vets to short contracts who know they will be dealt at tdl, hard on players with families.

Marleau could be an interesting signing. I guess it all depends on the makeup of the club.

If we are expecting to lose, I hope we see more grit in the lineup to make it a little more entertaining and protect the kids.

can' t play
- CanuckDon

He played in the CHL. He should qualify already. Hansen can't play because he has never lived/played for an American team before. Different circumstances. Guess we will find out.

Seeing as how we have kept their first line center (Chapoo) and winger (Megna) on the NHL roster most of the season, I'd assume much, much better lol.

I don't know if it's due to the Cap or Aquilini wishing to cut down costs, but the lack of depth both in Utica and our ECHL roster is bloody embarrassing. Those two teams have consistently had to resort to signing scrubs to 24 hour 'try-out' contracts just to ice a team.

This. We have plenty of cap space.

It's pretty odd, SJ's farm team plays in SJ, in the same stadium as the Sharks
But, i wouldn't be surprised.

totally get what you are saying, but based off of the message and direction the team has taken and failed in the last 3 years, this is a very very good sign.

could it be an issue of changing employers? the visa may be tied to his employer and with the change, it needs to be amended.

bureaucracy!

Vets to teach a couple more kids. Bo isn't ready to take this team already.

Will Goldy require waivers next year?

I am not making it up. I believe it was in Carol's blog but I am too lazy to go back and look. It is due to changing employers. Hopefully that news is inaccurate and he plays.
