I have seen some highlights from last season and saw world juniors this year. I don't know what to make of his game. Van could have as many years as 10 players go to utica next season. That's insane.

Add: lack anybody that players with size other then JV in the prospect pool.

I call it common sense but fair point. Aquilini and Galardi do not like each other. Why would Aquilini go out of his way to help him out? A 4th round pick is a joke.

Dahlen is a pure goal scorer which is something we don't really have in the system (Boeser is a little more well rounded). I believe he is leading his league in shots and also led the WJC in shots. 4.5 per game

apparently, but if a few of these smallish players develop, maybe you trade them for another forward with size or trade a dman for a fwd with size.

one problem at a time, just glad we were able to acquire some good skilled prospects.

I was a bit shocked that he didn't make Dons top 6 prospects.

you can't use the "you don't know what happened or what was said," logic in one instance and then do the exact same thing a few seconds later.

Edit. And you are right. I don't know if Aquilini would have allowed that trade but I followed up by saying if I was in his shoes I certainly wouldn't.

I am joking. I still have hope for Jake. I think he can be a productive top 9 forward one day that provides some versatility. He just needs to get his confidence back in Utica.

Virtanen has more NHL goals than all of those guys combined. He can score at the NHL level. The other guys... not so sure.

attitude adjustment, learns to be a pro, personal growth, all that stuff... drafted by the Canucks, he became an instant rock star here.

It is a big transition from junior to the NHL, time in Utica is good for him. we just need him to keep developing.

Funny, I think it's his confidence that got him into trouble in the first place. Over confidence is more like it. He forgot about the "earning it" part of the NHL experience.

He's got 55 games, 7 goals, 13 points, and 45 pims. That's not bad for a rookie season. I think expectations were a bit too high; fans, management, and jake included.

If he can't tear up Utica...what makes you think he can flip a switch in the fall and tear up the NHL?
