Probably right on that regarding Meuller - I know at one point he was pretty highly regarded....not sure if that's still the same case.

I didn't think Demelo would be eligible. Myself, I've really been impressed with his play. Hope we don't lose him.

I'd hate to see Schlemko go (and he'd probably be my pick out of that group), but he seems to get injured pretty frequently.

Would rather not lose Dell either at this point, that kids been a great backup!

Demelo is eligible unless we protect him.

I'm with you on Dell that would suck to lose him.

But yeah if I had to guess it would be Schlemko or Ward just bc Ward would be an expiring contract.

He's an RFA so he won't be under contract technically.....so safe. But even if he wasn't Vegas wouldn't pick him. They'll be choosing one of Ward, Dillon, Martin, Schelmko, Demelo, or Dell.

The only players that are "safe" are players that are protected and those with 2 years or less of professional hockey.

You guys will be happy with Hansen's, he is a good player & will be missed in Vancouver. Hopefully he helps you guys win the cup this year.

So UFAs and RFAs are free for the picking?

I'm unclear how restricted free agents are handled in the expansion draft. I've read:

"Las Vegas will have 48 hours from the time protected lists are released to negotiate with restricted free agents left unprotected. If a team loses an RFA, it won’t lose a player in the expansion draft."

If Vegas negotiates and signs, say for poops and giggles, Meuller to a contract - is it automatic....they get him, or do the Sharks have an opportunity to match? Do the Sharks get any compensation which they would get if say the Hawks signed him during the month of July?

I would think we could match, cause that would mean Las Vegas could go steal everyone's RFA's lol.
