Even if full value isn't met for Streit and Del Zotto, they should still be traded.

Here is why: the Flyers are committed to rebuilding on the fly. In order to get the forward pieces necessary, Hextall needs to take as many bites of the draft pie as possible. Whether the picks are for the 2017 or 2018 draft, there will be that player that eventually turns into a solid NHL forward. I know the odds in the later rounds are slim, but when you take multiple shots/pick multiple times that likelihood increases.

And there is no value to holding onto these two players in hopes of making the playoffs. Sorry, I do not see the value in getting the second wild card spot. Which is, by the way, a long shot at this point.

nothing will happen today. all UFA's will walk after the season (minus one of the goalies).

since 2012 this team has been less than interesting.

i know we all talk about not rushing the kids, but JFC, i hope a handful of them are with the team next year.

another 82 games of this will tough to take.

Yeah 1.45 is a little high but it's not going to strap them

Gudas is a very nice player but in comparison to Coburn's body of work, it's not even close.
- SuperSchennBros

people haaaaated coburn. and its not like all that came back was gudas. that trade was a big win for hextall.

so can we assume mason is gone and the plan is for stolarz to challenge Neuvirth for the job next year?

I do like Neuvirth, but mason is the better goalie, IMO.

perhaps they think Stolarz is ready to get a real shot and Neuvirth is really more of a backup.

Nope.

Just to kick us in the testicles he is resigned too.

And might as well squash them completely and resign Vandevelde.

But is Coburn better than the 1st 3rd and Gudas? because that is the apples to apples comparison...with gudas stock still rising and Coburn on the back nine...
- JW98FlyerFan

No, he isn't. With this said, I'm feeling like you're flip flopping from Coburn vs Gudas to Coburn for Gudas, the first and the third.

Yep. I like both tenders but I'm not sure I'd have gone neuvy over mase. Maybe mase wanted too much. I wouldn't be surprised if injuries crop up again and well need to pray that stolli can carry the load. Very risky.

I think Mason is the better goalie too. I know someone in the media said they know the flyers really like Stolarz but still. and are they protecting Neuvirth or Stolarz?

If the plan is for him and Stolarz to compete next season it is fine. He has shown he can play well for stretches.

A raise for the goaltender with the worst save % in the league and an extension for a 4th line plug.
