I also told you about Hagelin when he was some unknown 6th round draft pick skating for the University of Michigan. I would trade you if I though it would make the team better, and I like you.

Put some respect on that, ok.

By the way, I understand your point about the money difference between Trouba and Skjei, and it probably wouldn't be and easy call for me, if it ever was a realistic option, which it probably isn't anyway.

- 21peter

Now no. But after last season everyone was saying it was crazy and McD was worth more.

I also told you that I though Nail Yakupov was going to be a star based on what I saw of him in the OHL, so you can have the single malt back.

The way Skjei has played, him being waiver exempt; virtually makes him untouchable.

Jim Nill says Patrick Sharp will eventually need season ending surgery. That explains the lack of trade possibilities

It was crazy how good Yakupov was in the O, and then he has a real good rookie year. I don't know what happened to that guy.

I went to a lot of Plymouth Whaler games the couple of years they were stacked -- Vince Trochek, Tom Wilson, Ricard Rakell, Stephane Noesen, Ryan Hartman, JT Miller (for one of the earlier years), and you always think you can tell who is going to make a good pro.

I.e., I was never a huge Noesen fan, but I thought that Trochek was unbelievable.

Blasphemy...You are our Pierre McGuire on Skjei.
- mdw7413

No, that's me
The most comparable defensemen we have had with his skill in a few years will be Brian Leetch who was my all time favorite Ranger. Skjei has all the tools.
he wont BE Brian Leetch, but he best reminds me of him, he is smooth skating, very gifted offensively and will be a very solid defender. He is going to be better than McD.

Tampa must have really wanted to get rid of Filppula. They sent him packing with a 4th and 7th round 2017 picks for Streit; who they sent to the Pens for 2018 4th round pick.

WTF?!?

So basically, Tampa shipped Filppula and a 2017 4th rounder, plus a 2017 7th round pick for only a 2018 4th round pick.

Is the 2017 draft that bad and/or 2018 draft that fvcking special? Huh?

PeteV has been telling us to watch Skjei when he was a mite in his home town of Kalamazoo. Also after he went to Jefferson High, where he played with Tyler Beck and Brendan Smith. He also told us Skjei loves pop tarts

He had a NMC so they were forced to protect him in the expansion draft AND he cost them $5.5M on the books. They got to dump all that for literally nothing. Masterful work by Stevie Y.

No confidence, could be lots of bs in the locker room got to him... A Russian 1st overall came and suddenly was the big star while Taylor Hall was the dominant...

I can also tell you that Sean Day is a good kid, whose teachers really liked him. A buddy of mine, however, knows him personally and said he has mashed potatoes for brains, so take that for whatever its worth.
