Would Draistl have been a mistake?
Coyle or Dumba?
Hated the Dan Boyle signing.
Wasn't crazy about the Richards signing.
Trouba for Skjei?
Throw a big offer for Justin Faulk?
Stay away from a 28 year old were going to pay 7 million a year until he's 35?
Trade Stepan before his NTC kicks in?
Didn't like the MSL trade but could argue it worked.

most of you're trade proposals has been - how shall I say it - very optimistic...

And you know what I am going to do now, just to piss you off, I am going to say screw Shattenkirk. Send Stepan to the Jets in a deal for Jacob Trouba, and sign Joe Thornton to a 3 year deal this summer to fill the Stepan void. How do you feel about that, huh?
And maybe Dan Boyle can come back and coach or something.

It did work. And Skjei is better than Yandle. |

Would Draisalt have been a mistake? Was there even one legitimate rumor from a legitimate source that the Oilers were at all interest in trading him. I also don't think it would be a mistake to trade for Conor McDavid, but it's probably not happening.
Coyle or Dumba? For Stepan? Maybe it would have worked out. Maybe not. The Rangers do have 82 points and are 19 games over .500, so it's not totally clear how that trade would have effected them this year -- i.e., would their record be substantially different. I like Dumba. Not sure if he is that elite first pair guy, however,
Dan Boyle? This board was about 50/50 on that one. Personally, I didn't love it or hate it.
The Richards signing? One can make an argument that was a successful signing, since the Rangers were allowed to buy him out as part of the amnesty period. He played three years with the club. In those three years, they went to the Stanley Cup finals, and Eastern Conference finals. He scored some big goals. If the Rangers were stuck with that contract, it would have been bad, but for the three years he they had him, he was a good contributor and leader.
Trouba for Skjei? Don't think the Jets would have made that deal, so not sure how you can be right about that. I would make that deal if the Jets would do it. I would also probably trade Skjei for Zach Werenski or Seth Jones as well, but never let the other team's interest get in the way of claiming victory.
....
Screw it, this is getting to long and boring.

I forgot about him until a few blogs ago when I was thinking about all the bad late 20's signings we've done that carry into their 30's. |

Skjei is expansion draft exempt and better 5 on 5 player.

Yeah, cause Edmoton isn't trading Draisaitl for anything less than Karlsson. I'm right you're wrong, the proof of that is Draisaitl is still an Oiler. |

My only point of contention, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, is that before Richards joined the club, the Rangers hadn't been to the semi-finals since 1997. The team had a very successful three years with him in uniform, so an argument can be made, that because of the amnesty buy-out, it worked out o.k. Two of the three years with the team he was pretty good. One year, he was a disaster.

I don't think he's our biggest problem. But he might be in the offseason when we might have to make a business decision. He's also getting paid 6.5 million dollars to have 0 goals 7 assists in 18 games. Replace the name Stepan with Kreider/Nash etc and this place would be having a meltdown. |

I also told you about Hagelin when he was some unknown 6th round draft pick skating for the University of Michigan. I would trade you if I though it would make the team better, and I like you.
